The downside of organic fruit is that are often contains fruit fly eggs that soon hatch into a swarm of annoying flies. Here's how I kill them after they've hatched. The liquid is Apple cider vinegar plus 1/4 teaspoon sugar and 2 drops of dishwashing detergent.

It's amazing how effective it is! Instead of making the paper funnel I usually put plastic wrap over the top of the cup and poke some holes in it.

I tried that but it wasn't as effective as the funnel approach. Also, you have to be sure the joint between the funnel and the jar is well taped or they will escape. It's also good to prewash organic fruit with a food wash (diluted castille soap works well) but sometimes I forget to do it. I also have a spray bottle of water with a few drops of soap handy to catch stragglers. I spray them down so they can't fly then squish them. Lots of fun for the whole family.
