Hello,
There's a fascinating discussion on Dr Campbell's YouTube channel with Professor Clancy regarding post-infectious illness.
The beginning is concerned with similarities and differences between post-vaccine (covid) syndrome, long covid and what Prof Clancy refers to as 'other chronic fatigue syndromes'. Later they get onto EBV as well as covid. Clancy's description of how an incompetent immune response to a virus effectively leaves the immune system 'flapping' or 'oscillating between different IG states, thereby driving an inflammatory illness, fits with so much of the latest research e.g. PolyBio and the likes of Dr Prusty. A point to note is that you don't, for example, need EBV reactivation or the evidence of it to cause ME, it can drive inflammation simply because the immune system can't properly close the virus down efficiently. You might say it resorts to doing so inefficiently (my words).
These chaps clearly 'get it', and their patient-focus is refreshing.
