Evaluating intensive IV Ozone results from Cyprus / Thailand / Bali clinics (2x daily / 5 weeks)

Has anyone been to the Y&C Institute of Medical Rehabilitation in Cyprus or another intensive IV ozone clinic? Or heard of anyone benefiting?

I ask not because I'm considering going, but because I'm interested in the results of intensive IV ozone (both acutely and over time).

---------------------------

Some background...

Y&C Institute of Medical Rehabilitation in Cyprus is an in-patient medical clinic in Nicosia, Cyprus. They treat a variety of patients including many with ME/CFS, Lyme, and poorly defined autoimmune conditions.

Their protocol consists primarily of intensive IV / MAH Ozone twice daily, 6 days a week for a 4-5 weeks. This is augmented with IV Vitamin C, Laser Blood Irradiation (ILBI), mHBOT, and various detox protocols.

I should note that I'm generally wary of such clinics as they make big promises, underdeliver, and overcharge. But from what I've seen on Facebook, various blogs, and YouTube, Y&C seem to be delivering results. I take this as a proxy for the benefits of IV Ozone.

Tagging...
@mariovitali because I know he's currently working in Cyprus
@lizh because she mentioned planning on going to Y&C

Edit: There is another similar clinic in Cyprus called Neomed and others in Bali, Thailand, Malaysia, Canada, and Mexico

Some anecdotal patient accounts from around the web...

This is one from Kelly, severe Chronic Lyme patient in Australia who had to quit her job and move in with family after falling ill.

Her initial state:
It wasn’t just the general pain throughout my body that had me feeling unwell; for the last year I had been suffering from progressively worse symptoms including joint pain, muscle pain, bone pain (yes, that’s a thing), brain fog (aka suddenly becoming dumb as dog shit), dyslexia, twitching, becoming hot as hell quickly followed by freezing cold, seeing shapes, spots and things out of the corner of my eye that aren’t there (yup, that’s some freaky shiz!) and constant ringing in my ears. But worse than all of these symptoms combined was the fatigue. Let me tell you… real, proper, unrelenting fatigue is fucked. Sorry mum, but there’s no other word for it. I’m not talking about the fatigue you feel after three days of full time raving at Coachella with little to no sleep – I’m talking about waking up every morning feeling like you’ve just finished a marathon. Or been hit by a bus. Or just finished a marathon THEN been hit by a bus

Her protocol in Cyprus
Ozone. This is the main reason I’m here. Ozone is available in some states of Australia, but at a cost that is not affordable for most on an ongoing basis. What you will get here is 20 plus ozone sessions over the course of a month. Ozone is effective against Lyme in a number of ways; it directly attacks the Lyme bacteria, it assists with increasing the level of oxygen in your body (Lyme hates oxygen) and it boosts your immune system, helping your body to fight off the disease itself. The best use of ozone in fighting a stubborn disease like Lyme is to have it administered consistently and regularly. The ozone IV itself doesn’t hurt any more than any other sort of IV and has not caused any negative reactions for me.

IV vitamin C. I am soooooo glad that this has been included in the package. I’ve wanted to give IV vitamin C a go for quite some time as I’ve read up on how extremely effective it is at boosting the immune system and kicking Lymes ass, but haven’t been able to justify the price tag of $250 per jab. I’m currently on day four of treatment, and IV vitamin C has been administered each day so far… Praise the lord! Again, I haven’t experienced any pain or bad side affects from this.

IV laser. Now this treatment is a little different, a little out there, but stick with me. The nurse puts a catheter in your vein that literally has a laser in it. Yes, there is a laser IN YOUR VEIN. The idea behind this treatment is that any bacteria in your blood is killed as it passes through the laser light. Whether or not I think this treatment is effective I am yet to decide, but I’m definitely willing to give it a go. Plus, having a laser shining out from under your flesh makes for a pretty sick photo… jusssst saying. The doctor also had me shove lasers up my nose to treat congestion.

Hydro-colonic with ozone. I’m yet to have this treatment (I have my first session next week) but I’m sticking to a strict diet and probiotic supplements that will support the treatment. I’ve had colonics previously and despite the… uhmmm… unpleasantries of the procedure, I’ve had good results so I’m looking forward to this one (as much as one can be looking forward to having a tube shoved… well… you know where).

Physiotherapy. I haven’t had any physio before in my treatment of Lyme, and I’m now wondering why the hell I didn’t start this sooner. When I think of physio, I think of a quick rub of a couple of muscles that are giving you grief. You will get a lot more than that here. I have had daily magnetic and electric stimulation of both my back and my legs and I can tell you this has given me huge relief from my daily pain and muscle twitching. I had almost forgotten about my muscle twitching until I finished my first magnetic and electric stimulation session. I was laying there and my body was so still and calm. At first I couldn’t figure out why, until I realised that my muscles had actually stopped twitching. Hallelujah!! But again, I’m hesitant to cast a decision on the long term effects of this therapy just yet.

Her results at week 5

Week five came around and by this point my trip to Cyprus was almost feeling like a holiday. I was going out for meals, walking around the town, making new friends. Doing normal things that normal people do on a normal holiday. Amazing!

By the time I left Cyprus I was sitting at about 75% recovered. I had a lot of muscle wastage from a year and a half of doing not much at all and helplessly standing by whilst this pesky disease ate away at my body. My immune system was massively compromised. I was still in a bit of pain and still had issues with energy and stamina. Even with these issues I was ridiculously stoked with the gains I’d made.

Her results at 6 months
Six months later and I’m now at 90%, if not more. I’m back in full time work (something I had to give up when I was at my worst), I’ve started a business, I’m back at the gym and have put back on the muscle I lost, I have my social life back and the strength and energy to do all the things I want to do. To a normal person this doesn’t sound like a big achievement but to me, and to others who are going through or have been through the everyday hell that is Lyme disease, it’s huge. I wake up everyday grateful that I’m not in pain and that I’m physical and mentally able to do whatever I want. If nothing else, all the crap that I’ve gone through with this disease has made me so much more grateful to be alive and to be ‘normal’.

Her results at 1 year
I’m still hovering at around 90-95% of full, pre-lyme health and am expecting that I’ll be hovering here for a while. Dr Yuri says it takes about two years to get back to full health as there’s a lot of residual damage that gets left behind once lyme leaves your body. I don’t currently do any treatment or take any medication or supplements. For me, this is the best strategy to support my recovery.

I’m able to do anything and everything I want, like work, stay awake for a whole day (woohoo!), exercise, go out with friends, drink (and often drink too much), travel, and generally live my life.

This one comes from a couple with moderate (husband) and severe (wife) Lyme.
It feels like it had been ages since I’ve posted an update! Either you are welcome or I’m sorry!

We have had a lot of mixed feelings on how to answer many of our friends and family members understandable inquiries of “did Cyprus help?” Our uneasy answer had been yes and possibly no.

For myself, I have had been progressively improving in my various symptoms or complaints and grumbling in life. Tegan on the other hand had sadly been feeling like Cyprus made her overall suffering get flared up in a very bad way.

I am beyond thrilled to say that the last two weeks have been showing improvements for both of us in a large way! I can’t help but remember the amazing Nikki from [Cyprus] stating that it will most likely take about 3 months before we start to notice any improvements! So currently we are basically 4 months exactly since we stopped our treatment in Cyprus. And with factoring in the last few weeks of improvement I would have to say she was spot on!

There seem to be a lot of Australians with ME/CFS and suspected Lyme going to Cyprus. My impression from all the anecdotes posted on the FB group is that while there are a few success stories like the ones above, most experience small gains and then relapse within a few months of returning to Australia.

Thanks Art. Interesting to hear that. Do you know if they continue with maintenance ozone upon returning home? My understanding is that in most cases that's essential

No idea I'm afraid. I imagine ozone treatment isn't easy to get (or cheap) in Australia.

A lot have been going to Bali and Thailand for extended periods instead of Cyprus (since it's significantly cheaper) but I'm yet to see a success story.

Interesting, do you know the names of the Bali / Thailand clinics?

Apparently there's more than one. After a quick search, one in Bali that turned up is Neogen Ozone Clinic. It appears there are some in Malaysia too.

Got it. Seems there are more in Cyprus as well...

Neomed in Moni, Cyprus also treats ME/CFS with intensive ozone

https://neomedinstitute.com

A highly polished patient testimonial, nonetheless her initial symptoms sound quite a bit like ME

Some nice drone footage lol

Interesting both Cyprian clinics have Dr. Yuri Nikolenko as their resident ozone specialist

@mariovitali

no need to do anything, just wondering if you'd heard anything about these ozone clinics from people in your community, and your thoughts on intensive IV ozone in the context of your research findings

Sure, i will ask a group of ME/CFS patients here to see if they know about this. Regarding my research, from a first look it appears that there is no connection with ozone but i will have to explore this further.

Hi

I went to the clinic one year ago. I was extremely ill for 3 years, originally diagnosed with CFS/ME but after 1-year blood tests came back positive for Lyme disease. I was given a clinical diagnosis for Bartonella based on rashes and Babesia based on symptoms. I was around 90% bedbound. I had been to St George in Germany for 3 weeks of treatment and I became sicker after treatment. I went to the clinic in Cyprus for 6 weeks and went from being at around 10% to around 40%. One month post clinic I jumped to 60% and have stayed at that point for most of the last year.

However, I had two relapses over the last year that lasted a few weeks. I have not been able to get ozone treatments in my country so I am returning to the clinic for another 4 weeks of treatment this summer. Overall I cannot speak more highly of the clinic. They brought me back to 60% after being extremely ill for 3 years and although it wasn't a full recovery I am so much better now then before and I am hopeful I will reach 100% after another few weeks of treatment.

Most of the people I have stayed in touch with from the clinic have all made progress (not 100% though but significant progress). I am not badmouthing St George in Germany but only one patient that I have stayed in touch with has made a recovery from that treatment so this clinic seems to have far better outcomes (that i know of anyhow)It is different for everyone though. I am happy to answer any questions people might have

Just to clarify the clinic I went to was NeoMed Institute in Limmasol (it is a sister clinic of Y&C institute which is in Nicosia). Dr Yuri heads up both clinics and patients in NeoMed usually see Dr Yuri on their first and last day of treatment

Interesting! Vacation on Cyprus with success treatment looks like good plan!
Hope for some more reviews from that clinics!
Anyone know same clinic type in EU? I know only about dr. Lahodny (man who find 10 pass treatment)

Hi Martin, I just wanted to add that it is FAR from a vacation!! I wish! No, the treatment is very intense with enemas, colonics, IVs and 10 pass treatments (based on the Lahodony method). Most patients find it very gruelling (I certainly herxed badly) but thankfully many have very positive results by the end of the treatment.... but a vacation it is not hahaha !

HI Hooooooley, I am considering Cyprus for my very ill son. There seems to be a number of clinics. Would love to know how you chose NeoMed over the others? And hope you are still feeling much better. :)

Hi Lauren, happy to answer any questions! I chose this specific clinic due to the multipass ozone which they include 12 of in the package along with other ozone options. it was also cost-effective as an option in comparison to some fo the clinics, I had heard of some good results of the clinic through reading reviews but I had not met anyone personally who had went before I went. As mentioned in the above posts, for most patients I have stayed in touch with genuine improvements were experienced although not always 100% recovery although that was achieved by some.
