Does anyone here see Dr. Kenny De Meirleir in Reno?

Hi. I live in the Reno area and have never seen an ME/CFS specialist in my 36 years of total disability. At this late date I wonder if it's even worth it.
Dr. Meirlier is taking appointments for next month and I'm considering trying to get in but I don't know what that would entail. I can only afford what Medicare covers.
Anyone here ever seen him? Please let me know what you think.
Thank you.

I've been a patient of his for many years in Belgium.
Dr. de meirleir is a quack. He will diagnose you with whatever is trending at that moment. The problem is that because of his arrogance he can be very convincing, especially to vulnerable and desperate people. His following is almost cult-like.

A few years ago everyone that walked into his clinic was (mis)diagnosed with "chronic lyme disease", based on some non-validated LTT test and other quackery. You would then be loaded up with some very heavy duty antibiotics for years. Now he just diagnoses everyone with some kind of neuro gut disorder. Has borrelia suddenly and magically vanished?

@Thinktank Wow! Thank you for your input. Yes, I've read other stories along that line too and had some concerns. I think I'll hold off. I know there's no cure for this yet and we can really only try to treat our symptoms and co-morbid conditions as best we can. I, like everyone else that's had ME for a long time, have tried just about everything, mostly to no avail. I really don't have much hope that there's a dr out there yet that can do much to make a difference. I guess I was just hoping to find one that really understands ME/CFS. I had always wanted to go to Dr. Peterson in Incline, which is very close by, but I could never afford all the tests he orders that aren't covered by insurance. I think he's gone concierge now too.
