That is very generous of Erica. But one does need to ensure as many people as possible know about the offer to ensure it has the most impact.

I don't see how she would know where the donations came from so I am 99.99% sure they apply for any donations given through the crowdrise page.

I saw that, and 'knowing' Erica I would expect that she has considered it and taken it into account, but just want to make sure.

Re. the ME charities, I guess it goes without saying that Invest in ME Research (IiME/IiMER) have helped spread the word of David Tuller's crowdrise via their pre-conference dinner, on Facebook, Twitter and now in their free e-newsletter which was mailed out yesterday.

I think generally speaking, very few charities will promote the work of other charities if they are in the same sphere. That's just my impression. It would be a bit detrimental to their cause if MEA started highlighting all the great work iime are doing and suddenly all the MEA members left and paid money to iime instead. I could be wrong maybe someone more familiar with charity work could explain.

I suspect the tripling means if, for example you give $100 she will give $200 so the total given is $300, in other words your original $100 has been tripled to $300.

This means a maximum of $5000 given by other people will be matched by a maximum of $10000 by Erica. Total maximum achieved, $15000.

It's funny, everytime there is a campaign of doubling or tripling of donations, they always seem to make it confusing.

Let's just say Erica's tripling kicks in at 50k. Then in theory if 52.5k is reached Erica will match the 2.5 with 7.5 and the target of 60k is met.

But I would like more clarification!

I'm happy to be confused by someone whacking in an extra $5k [and I think she said that was the maximum from her, so if we're under $55k we still have more money to raise].
