And this comes from someone using social media to proclaim hate speech against a patient group!!!?

If we are the nutcases this person is the case and the kernel.
Profound lack of self-awareness on the part of someone with an advanced degree in psychology, eh? He needs to go back to his textbooks and read that bit about projection.

Isn't a wonder that nobody has ever really attacked or assaulted a doctor or psychiatrist. CFS patients and children are unethical treated and abused by doctors. Patients lie for decades in bed (or housebound) and are disabled. And then a psychologist types an outrageous tweet(s) about nutcase CFS patiënts. How bad can you be as a psychologist and human being......

Did you click on the attacment, rather than copy the thumbnail? Fills a quarter of my screen.
All I see is a thumbnail. Can you (or someone else) post it as an attachment with no thumbnail (or private message me or e-mail me) please.

Is there any solid evidence of death threats, letter bombs, and years of police protection (as Sabinsky claims)? I know some BPS supporters have claimed death threats and I think I heard they asked for police consultation on safety, but what is independently verified?

I'm guessing that if those claiming such things had anything of substance they'd be showing it to every journalist on earth and posting photos on social media. They aren't able to do that if it's all in their paranoid imaginination.

I don't remember hearing about any bombs. The 'death threats' I heard about were things like, "You'll pay someday for what you've done to patients", and I'm pretty sure I heard that the police refused to provide protection as it was deemed unnecessary. Anyone have better information?

I understand there's always the angry individual with a big mouth. Such a person may have issued something that we'd all agree sounds like a death threat. Sadly, every public figure is subject to bile of such people. That is not a campaign. What Sabisky is claiming is a massive campaign of death threats by ME activists. He needs to provide evidence... not SW's or EC's claims such things happened, but real evidence.

Exactly! Where is the proof? If someone showed up at a public event with a knife would there not be a record of it? I mean it should have been reported and charges should have been laid. Until I see actual proof (e.g. police documents) I will believe this story as much as I believe the guy down the street who wears a tin foil hat because he believes the government is listening. Need proof.

This Sabisky guy really should to read the Virology blog entries and replace "CFS" with "diabetes". His CFS bias is pretty clear.

Also, really loved the part where he talks about reading Wesselys Wikipedia entry... cuz if it is in Wikipedia it must be the truth. ;) Love how the death threat proof is linked to story in a British tabloid rag. Good stuff.

Yeah, they teach all the important stuff about research, and quality of evidence at his school, it appears. I mean every MSc student knows that Wikipedia is the be-all and end-all of evidence, and tabloid rags are even better.

....if you draw politically incorrect conclusions. Hard to think of any other area of psychology with such dangerous activist nutcases

As ME is a neurological condition and not an area of psychology he must be referring to the BPS brigade who are the dangerous psychology activist nutcases.

If I were researching ME/CFS I wouldn't be very keen on sharing my data either. This is a field where death threats are not unknown...

And that statement is defunct of any logic. So they are withholding data.... because "militants" would be so angry..... at the release of it??

What a complete plonker!!

I guess she means a 'human sacrifice enthusiast' in an academic and historical sense!!!
I hope so! :wide-eyed: Maybe we should check to see if missing persons reports have increased in Sheffield since Jan 2011. :nervous:

Dr Crawley admitted in a radio broadcast in July 2011 that she had not received explicit death threats but had misinterpreted one email to constitute a death threat and that her local police force had taken no action(http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b012nlcv)."
One, one, email which the hysterical recipient admits she misinterpreted as a death threat has been exaggerated into routine death threats and letter bombs to BPS researchers requiring police protection. We need to get this information out there to counteract the violent ME activist narrative this bunch of sickos continues to spread. This has gone far, far beyond ridiculous.
