Do not underestimate your enemy. They haven't make it burying ME for 30+ years by being stupid. Prepare for war. They will regroup and reorganiZe but put a fight the same. We still do not have a biomarker so we are not out of the psy claws.
They don't seem to have realised that the battlefield has changed, they are now being confronted by international scientists who see straight through their bullshit at a glance. Preparing statements that tell their paymasters what they want to hear and manipulate tabloid readers in the UK won't cut it any more. Fortunately that's all they know how to do and they don't have a clue about science, don't even speak the same language as their new critics or really understand what they are talking about. Prepare to watch them shoot themselves in the foot again and again, then blame each other, then try to save themselves by barging ahead of the women and children in the queue for the lifeboats, of which there aren't enough anyway.

Andrew Sabisky is a typical example of someone who does not investigate CFS and is biased. His statements are shameful. Exaggerating hate mails -which is common in the internet age- is a distraction not to engage in a real debate. I see no sensible comments from him. It is clear to me that there are many arrogant characters walk around in psychology. These are very scary people. Let the data speaks for itself! Nothing objective have been found in psychological research to make claims that CFS is a Psychologically disease. But people like Sabisky think they are GOD!

Well, Twitter has officially gone bonkers...I would gently suggest treading lightly, as at this point I think Coyne & David Tuller have spoken well on our behalf here, patients as well. Bizarre stuff. Coyne officially has a big bullseye on his back, but I think he knew what he was getting himself into.

and letter and pipe bombs!!!!! not releasing the data will surely "protect" them from that and also don't forget the anthrax letters.

yes very scary. arrogant. ignorant. uninformed. unable to think or question. clueless and OF COURSE THEY ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!!! I don't think that has anything to do with psychology though, you can find them in an field.

that was very predictable. They are unable to refute the very reasonable and valid arguments of Coyne so they try to discredit him instead of engaging in a rational discussion. He is already being called a "nutcase" on Twitter.

I find it deliciously ironic that the type of comment Sabisky made
...one day, Coyne, your use of social media hate mobs to get your point across is going to really backfire on you
is just the type the BPS crew have called death threats when said by patients.

If Sabisky is going to spread stories about volumes of death threats against PACE supporters, he needs to produce some evidence.

I also find it extremely disturbing that an educational psychologist would call a group of patients that he considers to have mental illness 'nutcases'. WTH are they teaching in psychology school over there that they don't have time for basic science or professional ethics? Reeling and Writhing? Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision?*

*Lewis Carroll reference, for those who missed it

He has just bought Wesselys spin about death threats without questioning whether there is any truth behind this. Very disheartening that he had such low intelligence. As an educational psychologist with UCL he should not be making troll like hate comments such as "nut cases". It is very unprofessional.

I don't think we should worry too much about the likes of him given the other great comments from other academics outwith ME field who are surprised about KCLs rejection of Coynes request but this discriminatory hate speech should be challenged and cease.

Bob has made some good tweets challenging people that there is no evidence behind these and this is part of a smear campaign.campaign.
