Thank you for posting this @LaurelB! Does anyone know if any of the ingredients from that list are considered "adjuvants"? I know historically that vaccines that contained adjuvants were the most dangerous for people with autoimmunity (but I am not certain which ingredients are considered "adjuvants"). I had wondered though since the J & J vaccine is only one dose vs. two, if it contains an adjuvant to make it more potent and speed up the immune reaction?
I have had allergic reactions to Polysorbate-80 in the past (in food) and it is something that I avoid. I do not know for sure if I would be reactive to it now but I would feel uncomfortable taking that chance.
I don't know if that will be the case and I guess time will tell!

I haven't trawled through all the comments as yet on here about the opinions of covid vaccine safety for someone with ME/CFS. So does anyone know in a nutshell what the medical people with a strong interest and knowledge of ME/CFS are actually suggesting. Also, could things like the severity of your ME/CFS be of significance or how long you have had this condition. There are way too many medical people about who don't even think we're ill, telling us to have it. I'm in UK and my first one is in about 10 days but I'm wondering.

for myself, moderna has TRIS so if i get sm leaning towards pfizer. J and J test study had 6 people in exptl group get timnitud and dizziness/vertigo compared to 0 in placebo. Since im prone to vertigo and tinnitus that najes me reluctant. Cold viruses give ne vertigo and wondering if the afenovirus vector would be a pain for me too
Ialso tho need to Know more about “covid arm”. Whats the mechanism? The fact it is delayed a week is what especially conxerns ne

I get regular e-mail updates from TMS (Masto Society) but have not heard about any results yet from the survey. I think it is still way too early in the data gathering process but at some point they will have gathered a lot of data re: how the vaccines are affecting people with Mast Cell Diseases.
Can you remind me what "TRIS" means (and what it does)?
I am very curious about "COVID arm" too and if it is an autoimmune reaction, neurotoxic reaction, allergic reaction, etc. The tendon in my right arm was severely injured in 2010 by a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and the reaction was delayed and occurred on the 7th day of taking the antibiotic. At the time, I was told by neurologists that I should never get a flu shot (and I never have). If you learn more about "COVID arm", can you please tag me?
I will not be getting the vaccine. It is really a tough decision and I do not take it lightly. It is purely based on my medical history and current medical status (and it is not political and I am not an anti-vaxxer)!

I know it’s still too early, but has anyone heard of medical issues with the Johnson and Johnson vaccine like what was happening with the Phizer vaccine? Dr Kaufman’s office and the masto society pretty quickly put out memos banning us from phizer and moderno. I’m hoping the Johnson and Johnson vaccine is not banned for me.

They want some time to see if it has been causing blood clots in some of the vaccinated people. Today, Norway reported that 3 health care people have been hospitalised with blood clots, two of them are young-ish.
On the other hand....121 820 people have received this vaccine so far.
The government in Norway, Denmark and other countries will take time to see if it is coincidental or not.

That news today has got me worried. Three people under 50 in hospital with clots, bleeding and low platelets after having the Oxford vaccine. No confirmation yet on cause though.
I'm not sure how representative it is, but the poll of ME patients on the Health Rising blog shows around a third report their side effects from the Oxford vaccine as severe. That's quite a chunk. Probably still better than getting covid, but it is a worry.

There is a bit in the Times newspaper about this today which reports that the European Medicines Agency says 5 million people in the EU have had the Oxford jab and 30 of them have had blood clots. WHO and Germany's Vaccine Agency say there is no reason to believe the jab caused the clots. I dont think it's anything other than coincidence.

@Strawberry Can you please clarify what you mean by this?!! I am also Dr. K's patient and I discussed the COVID vaccines w/him in detail and he never said that I should not get Pfizer & Moderna. He actually said that (if I do get the vaccine in the future) that Pfizer & Moderna are safer for me than a vaccine that has an adjuvant (from an autoimmunity perspective). I also read & printed the memo that his office sent to all of his patients and nothing in that memo said that we were banned from getting Pfizer & Moderna.
Also, I get weekly e-mails from the Masto Society (and other mast cell groups) and they did not say that we were banned from Pfizer & Moderna either! They did say if someone was allergic to specific ingredients that they should NOT get Pfizer or Moderna (depending on the ingredient that they were allergic to). Can you please clarify what you meant (re: Dr. K and the Masto Society)?

Most people never report their adverse reactions to the FDA (or the equivalent agencies in the UK & EU) either because they did not associate the delayed reaction to vaccine, because they did not know how to report it, or they did not feel well enough to report it, or any other number of reasons.
If there are 30 reported cases of blood clots to the AZ vaccine, it means that the real number is MUCH bigger than this. There are people who are pre-disposed to blood clots and when I had IVIG, I had to do testing first to make sure that I was not pre-disposed to blood clots. I know that IVIG has nothing to do with a vaccine, but there may be a previously unknown connection between the AZ vaccine and certain individuals that is only now coming to light.

I had the Oxford vaccine yesterday and I would say the side effects have been far worse than I had anticipated.
I walked unaided out of the vaccination centre, but less than 12 hours in I was completely bedridden, unable to sit up let alone stand or walk. The headache, although easing now, was severe and, coupled with the extreme nausea and retching, it's been a very unpleasant experience so far.
Over 24 hrs post-vaccination and l can prop myself up a little and am sipping water, but still feeling pretty rough.
I gather side effects to the second dose of the Oxford vaccine are less (the reverse being reported of Pfizer) but I am not so sure I want to put myself though anything like this again!

A health care worker in Norway, otherwise rather young and healthy, was in the newspaper with very much the same experience as you’ve had.
He had never been so sick in his life.
But he reasoned- if he’d got COVID 19, he would probably have been this sick for 3 weeks, or maybe even worse, so he was going for dose 2 as well, without a second thought. (In Norway we use the AstraZeneca name for the Oxford vaccine)

In 12 weeks time, when my second dose is due, I daresay I'll take it. Right now, though, I don't even want to contemplate it. 
We tend to call it AstraZenica too, but I was responding to Artorias' post and I didn't want to confuse anyone by using 'AZ' instead of 'Oxford'.

Most likely I won’t get vaccinated before late summer or early fall, but I must admit I hope for another vaccine than the az/ox ...
Please tell how you react to the second dose compared to this first shot...

I received emails from both recommending not to get either shot. It looks like I received both in January? I may have misread the emails, but I decided it wasn’t worth the risk. I’m holding onto hope for the Johnson and Johnson shot. I’m going to call dr Ks office, I’ll let you know here.
