Absolutely. Have done. You can nominate even if you are not a US resident. You can help get greater recognition for the amazing achievements of Annette Whittemore and the WPI.
I hope everyone takes a few minutes to nominate Annette Whittemore.
CNN is searching the globe for everyday people who are changing the world. Each of the top 10 Heroes receives $25,000. Please nominate Annette Whittemore and help the Whittemore Peterson Institute continue important research into XMRV and Neuroimmune disease.... The deadline is August 1st so please act now. http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/cnn.heroes/index.html
Below are some links that might help you fill out the form:
I really want to want to fill the form in but haven't much info on Annette and not much energy to think or look, could anyone be so kind as to PM with with some stuff. Thanks
I can do it but I have one question. I found on CNN web site this note:
Note: This is not a vote. Please do not nominate the same person more than once.
so it seems to me that its enough to nominate a person once because this competition its not based on voting but there will be maybe a commision which will decide who will win.
if I am not right just write and i will also try to nominate her.
Tuha,
They ask people why they would nominate her and the different statements made by people can only help but convince them and show many people feel the same way. Statements from different people give them a more rounded picture of why that person is a good bet.
I thought that just meant that the nominator should not submit the nomination form more than once for the same person. In the process of revising, I managed to leave out one of the most important things I meant to include. So I'm really glad my nomination for Annette Whittemore is not the only one.
I don't know how strict CNN is about word count, but I would advise everyone to check their word counts before submitting. I thought my statements seemed short enough to be under the word maximums. But when I actually counted them, they were over. My nomination could have been disqualified.
