Another surprise discovery: in response to bacterial infections, cells may create toxic lipid droplets for the bacteria to gobble up. While I see no reason to think that this is involved in ME, it could be, or a similarly so-far-unknown process might be. If there's a disease based on these toxic droplets, would they show up on any present testing methods? If this was ME's 'something in the blood', would they have found it without knowing of its existence?
