The hype is big, lets hope that he can deliver even half of it. Heard about 3-4 weeks till he can publish data. Said also something about that Cfs can maybe be treated in a 5 year timeframe.Love Dr. Prustys work. I believe in him.

So we are looking at many thousands of individual mitochordria (green) clustered around a cell nucleus? What type of cell is this?

One of the immediate replies to Prusty's above tweet was "IT IS GRANDIOSE" and it was made by an OMF representative and then it seems to have vanished. Shame on you OMF for having such members represent you !

Another interesting reply was -Have you confirmed it , are you sure or something to that extent - to which Prusty replied if I am saying one thing it means I have confirmed it again and again and I also know 10 more things only after which I reveal the first thing. He is rocking ! This is chess player psychology.

I wrote on the nanoneedle thread by Janet, asking for the opinion of OMF on Dr Prustys work. I feel feel they should collaborate. They could help Prusty so much, with funding/ their expertise/ knowledge....I've had no reply, nor to any other questions i have asked re their research (metabolic trap ect). I hope everything is ok their end. I am starting to feel a bit worried about them.

Of course OMF are working away. Funding is a constraint. There are not always new things to report.
If Dr. Prusty publishes in a month, I hope it is something that gets governments involved in funding. Seventeen million people sick with this and them not funding is pretty unbelievable. You would think they want this population back to work.

I think the main reason NIH has been dragging its feet on funding research till now is invariably they have to accept disability support for all the patients and that is a big amount. But if Prusty can say this is the molecule(s) causing the mito fission and when this is removed or at least blocked the energy levels return back then NIH will surely fund that research since they will know at the back of their minds they dont have to foot the disability support funding (social security aspect). Lets wait for Prusty to publish his findings. Hopefully we should see a cure or at least an effective treatment within 3-5 years time frame or even earlier. It depends on various organizations including FDA cooperating. Lets not forget that Prusy's work is the primer to Naviaux's research and Sonja Kohl in her email said both are working on it. It takes two to tango (In this case many ) :thumbsup:

i think what your saying is potentially true (follow the money...often reveals whats really going on).., but of course it is not right. The notion we First must prove we can be cured BEFORE we can be even diagnosed accurately is- morally wrong.

I hope the coming paper from Dr. Prusty forces a closer alliance between Ron and him. Because im really interested if Dr. Prusty can use things like SS31/Elamipretide in his experiments to see if it can stop the mitochondrial fission. To finally get SS31 to patients.

It was not a glitch. I know the person's name and also that Prusty politely replied to that stupid statement. Only subsequent to that event Prusty said if he says one thing he does so after confirming it again and again and also that he knows 10 things more before he announces the first piece of information.

Naviaux in his november newsletter states very clearly that Prusty has found out the factor which is responsible for the fatigue and also what causes the cell to go into danger mode and that it is the same factor which does both. I am very curious to know what the novel cell based assay that Naviaux mentions in his newsletter is. If we can have a joint press conference of Naviaux and Prusty after Prusty publishes his findings it will be fantastic. I think that may happen. Just my intuition.

I also think Prusty would have got the experiments reproduced in Naviaux's lab. Just my guess. Because repeatability(same experiment in the same lab ) and reproducability (same experiment in a different lab with similar equipment) are two things which every good researcher has to establish before making public announcements.

I don't understand why OMF are not making comment? I thought their whole ethos was sharing and collaboration to get to the answers of m.e quickly and efficiently. I'm really sad no comment has been made about Prustys amazing discoveries, even more so as it is so in line with the nanoneedle results. Im honestly baffled by this....

Elamipretide just good fast track fda approval process for barth syndrom today. This means it could be possible that end of the year its commercially available for off label use in cfs. Should it be able to stop mitochondrial fission it could be a top line medication.
