ME/CFS Funding and Government ME/CFS funding
Since 1998 Alison Hunter Memorial Foundation has made quite an impact to the ME/CFS situation in Australia and has helped fund ME/CFS studies, along with holding some very large ME/CFS gatherings where well known ME experts have been brought to help educate our doctors and talk to the ME/CFS community. The goal of this independant organisation is to "to advance scientific knowledge and medical care." http://www.ahmf.org/aboutus.html
The Judith Jane Mason and Harold Stannett Williams Memorial Foundation (Established in 2003, funds Aust. ME/CFS and Alzheimers research studies..60% of the money goes towards the ME/CFS research) http://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q...NGyRVK&sig=AHIEtbSoSAuyM8RB2CUWXFEY--j_ILxIBw
In 2004 the ME/CFS Society of Sth Australia, set up a research fund for ME/CFS research which was going towards funding the Adelaide Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Research Group.. a group of ME/CFS experts who are also in practice. (Im doubtful that research fund now exists? as funding for the 2011 study of this group was funded by John T. Reid Charitable Trusts, supported by the Alison Hunter Memorial Foundation).
