"XMRV was detected in at least 17% of malignant samples and rarely found in benign tissue. There was no significant effect of XMRV on pathological or clinical outcome as measured by PSA, stage, GS and BCR. Further research is necessary to determine the implications of XMRV infection on prostate cancer."
