@Mascotte my answere will be (somehow) speculative, but it works for me.
There are pathways or hints known why pain or some of the other symptoms may occure. I am not interested in these details here.
My impression is (as I said it´s speculative) that pain, breathing issues and some more symptoms would go along with a geometrical disruption of these inner brain structures Basal Ganglia and Thalamus. It seems to me that the backforeward direction is interrupted. So any action tends to act against its own possibility when it wouldn´t induce actions on the more fore- or backside. Again, I neglect any more detailed and interesting knowledge.
What me helps:
1. It might easily be only MY first prerequisite (for what I like to draw some attention to in 2 ff), my avoidance of any high manganese food: For being dense, you may look at my signature below. Immediatly good sleep here, btw.
2. I have googled that in geometrical pronounced structures some ultra trace elements would be high: chromium in the caudatus, aluminium in the spinal chord, zinc (a trace element though) is less but differentiated in the thalamus, and nickel is not known (it can make a sunshine from above in my soul, a rotaion that might occure exaggerated also by alcohol and other such drugs, as nickel is connected with dopamine).
Now, in Chocolate these metals are quite high, and here I experience (under 1.) good effects with low amounts (9-36g) but bad effects with higher amounts! (As indicated I tested the metals, almost homeopathicly, sepreatly, don´t know if this safe).
3. Also Zinc in addition to that in cholcolate is good for me, it turned out that the best buy is that with Selenium (5mg and 27mg rsp.) (containing as well Vit D and C - ?).
4. I have helpful effects from the combo GABA+Taurine (nowadays I take 250g each). GABA accounts for 70% in the pallidus, 95 % in the putamen, and is high as well in th thalamus, esp 30% in the nucleus reticularis where it projects to the nuclei intralaminares (hope I haven´t mixed this up).
5. I don´t know why the combo Lysine and VitB12 in 0.25 L water over the day can often help me much (sometims though it can even be a bit bad). You can though google Chromium, Lysine and CFS, and there is a guy who claimed to have recovered by Cr and LYS.
6. The thing THEN (?): Vit B1, which is needed for the important NAD+ (maybe in competition to IDO?). I do it a bit carefully, just started it, it gives a boost and I stay at a new good level without any further intake!!!! Will look at vitB2 for FAD. I have 6 months disability left and I don´t want to endure a second time dr nonsense. It seems a bit - for reasons to be figured out - that potatoes (Potassium prob.) and Eggs are important enough.
The last point also is not completely (so far) without the common chaos (esp in thinking) that I experience since my improvement from 1. which takes place while pain lessens, which I am so thankful for. But it´s promising.
So, I just happend to say it. Hope it´s ok.

PS: Literature for the whole idea wold be:
Robert Ader 1974 and I Baciu since 1945, which is commonly accepted.
Josh Berke 2018: "What does dopamine mean?" as an ide and pars pro toto for our symptoms.
