What's your favourite amino acid?

I notice a number of people here find amino acids helpful.

In what form do you take them?
Do you favour any particular ones?
What was the reasoning behind your chosen option?
What - and how much - benefit did you notice?

I would say Taurine. I took shots in combo with magnesium because I was deficient. I felt the calm effects on my brain almost immediately.

NAC (N-acetyl cysteine). Deals with "wired-but-tired" during the day, and lets me sleep at night.

BCAAs (branched chain amino acids) - I started taking them almost 3 years ago after having low leucine on Nutreval testing, and then reading about connections between BCAAs and something called "central fatigue" which although not the same as PEM, sounded intriguing. Here are some links:

After taking the BCAAs for a week, I discovered that my PEM recovery time was cut in half, and has stayed that way. I cut back on the BCAAs several months ago and gradually noticed my PEM recovery time was increasing so I went back to a full dose, and my recovery time went back.

This is what I'm taking, I take 8 capsules a day in 2 doses of 4 each on an empty stomach:

I smash large volumes of hydrolysed whey protein isolate which delivers in the most absorbable form BCAAs and a range of other aminos. Leucine, isoleucine, valine and especially glutamine are abundant in it.
