I sort of skim-read it. My understanding is that it may be possible to treat low cortisol levels (which in my opinion is a symptom, not a cause, of hypothalamic dysregulation) by using scary drugs with terrifying side-effects to counter-intuitively SUPPRESS cortisol production for a specific period of time.
