TREATING LYME WITH ADDERALL: WILL IT HARM ADRENALS?

A very smart LLMD said that Adderall was recommended at the 2011 ILADS Conference. For fatigue and pain, I think. But could it damage overstressed adrenals? Ive tried to avoid coffee because of crashes. And Adderrall is a straight-up amphetamine. What has your doctor told you? Safe treatment? Or just short term symptom alleviation with dangers?

Thanks!

Hi,

I had an autonomic specialist prescribe low dose adderall for me for OI. He said the effect he was looking for was something like, "increasing the blood flow to the reticular activating center in the brain."

It worked well for OI at a very low dose, but I no longer take it as I like to minimize my drugs and wasn't sure exactly what else it might be doing.

Best,
