Phenibut really helps me get a full night of sleep (especially when combined with melatonin or Diphenhydramine) but it can only be used twice a week

@Hip I tried magnesium. But I wake up too early. Terrible quality of sleep. Have to stop after a few says.
Is that because of the calcium??

Not sure, but as an aside, I find taking 500 mg of calcium as I go to bed noticeably helps me not only to get to sleep quicker, but also deepen my sleep. ME/CFS patients it seems often have sleep that is too "thin" or shallow, but for me calcium helps deepen it.

Evening primrose oil 3000 mg before bed has a similar sleep-deepening effect, I find.

Hmm cause I also have this one from Solgar with Calcium Magnesium and Zinc. And wake up too early as well. Very frustrating. Magnesium helps me a lot not too grt overstimulated. But can't use it too much because of sleep.........

If you want to prolong sleep, one thing I find works well is eating a lot of cherries before bed. There was a study that showed cherries can prolong sleep time by 90 minutes, and that's pretty much exactly what I found with cherries: if you eat them before bed, you carry on slumbering happily for an extra 90 minutes in the morning, past your normal waking up time.

Haha. Interesting. Not sure if I can with my IBS and fructose malabsorption. But will check it out.
Tomorrow my shopping guy will get me some more calcium. See if it helps

One of my favorite sleep aids has this in it:

Melatonin
L-Theanine
– An amino acid found in tea that acts as a neurotransmitter promoting relaxation without sedation
  • 5-HTP – This serotonin-precursor helps raise serotonin levels in your brain, promoting a positive effect on sleep and mood
  • GABA (gamma amino butyric acid) – Found in studies to increase relaxing brain alpha waves and reduce “busy-mind” beta waves
  • L-Tryptophan – An essential amino acid that’s needed for the production of serotonin in your brain, and it’s a precursor to melatonin and niacin. Shown in clinical studies to help normalize sleep patterns
Cherry Juice Concentrate – Natural cherry juice for health-supporting anthocyanins, polyphenols, and flavonoids
Humulus lupulus – Hops are a sedative plant that have been shown to increase the activity of GABA in the brain.
Ziziphus jujube – A fruit used in traditional Chinese medicine that may have sedative properties, works well with 5-HTP
Valerian officinalis root -An herb that may help with restlessness, stress, and sleep

It took me more than 1 year to finally start sleeping like I should. I don't know if it's the supllements or the nimodipine I am on at the moment, but something seems to be helping me. I can now fall back asleep most of the time, not always, when I wake up. It still takes about 30-60 minutes to fall asleep. I take 400mg mag glycinate + bach flowers (don't know if I believe in those, but hey, it's 1 drop) before bed. It doesn't make me feel rested though. I guess this is another step I am not into yet.

Like I said, it took my brain more than 1 year to start changing. It takes a loooong time...

A few night of baclofen, even at 1/2 pill, had me sleeping until evening. I didn't try 1/4 pill. Maybe I should.

Several years ago I found Rozeram to be helpful at either 1/2 or 1/4 pill - I can't remember now. It was too expensive for me to continue when the sample my dr. gave me ran out.

I've been using L-tryptophan for some months now and it has been a life changer. It makes me go to sleep really fast and using half the dose to wake up has let me get my circadian cycles somehow in order. It also seems to alleviate my FM symptoms, after some time using it they just dissapeared and I've noticed sometimes when I don't use tryptophan they come back, not so intense tho.

Had my appt with my specialist. So he decided to add back 50 mg of Trazadone, I last took trazadone in 2009, it quit working for me to get and stay asleep. Seemed to help last night getting me to sleep, but not keeping me asleep for hours. Maybe I need a little more?

I currently take 45 to 60 mg of Remeron at night. Along with a muscle relaxant, and melatonin (3mg).
