I just can't find anyone who has a clue here in Israel. I'm at my wits end - I have so much knowledge, 8 years of illness spent researching, but I lie here still sick and told by idiot docs there are no tests and no treatments! Grrrrrr! I wish I could access that amazing care offered in America by Functional Medicine doctors, and knowledgable, empathetic doctors like Drs Bateman, Montoya and the late Dr Martin Lerner. How about London? Any decent doctors there?

There are so many people from the UK here, hopefully one of them can help you with London.

Would Kenny De Meirleir in Belgium be an option? Many people swear by him.

Thanks Mary, I'll look him up.
ukxmrv, how did all the UK doctors get lost? Just lost interest? Turned out to be charlatans?

I see an excellent POTS consultant in the London area. If you think you have a strong element of OI in your illness I would recommend him without hesitation - he refers to colleagues in different specialities that also understand the implication of OI conditions on sleep, gastro, endocrine systems etc.

I also see an excellent endocrinologist in the London area that specialises in 'unexplained fatigue'. Whilst not an 'ME doctor' he has been very thorough investigating a wide range of things for me, e.g. thyroid, cortisol, B12, EBV, SIBO, MCAS, methylation pathway defects etc.

I guess these guys don't use the term ME/CFS because of the connotations in the UK. Ironically they are both attached to King's College Hospital! Feel free to PM me if you'd like their details.

Thanks so much for your recommendations. I've been lucky and had someone tell me of a doctor here in Israel who does these tests. I love this forum! I'm very glad for you that you've got doctors who go under the radar for you there. Bloody PACE has made it impossible to get taken seriously in the UK. Wishing you energy and good health, SuzieSam

Hi @SuzieSam I have been diagnosed CFS in Israel by Prof Galia Rahav (she is now in Tel Hashomer Hospital) 18 years ago. No treatment. No help. If you have an other address, please share :) .

Hi Hannah, nice to "meet" you :). Have you been back to Dr Rachav recently to see if she has anything new to say about ME/chronic fatigue? She's the only doctor anyone has recommended here in Israel for ME, but I have not heard if she does any tests that give any treatments! I'm guessing not.

I have been talking with someone else here who has seen a rofeh mishpachah (GP) who works with Clalit - and privately - who is very nice and is interested in our illness. She said he will do any test within the sal briut, and will give LDN - Low Dose Naltrexone. Dr Yehuda El Hacham. He's in Tel Aviv.

But my priority is to see a doctor about my thyroid problems and estrogen/progesterone imbalance. And possible cortisol problem, and find out what nutrients I'm short of. And my gut health... There's Dr Yisroel Yaffe in Bet Shemesh (American), and Dr Mel Litman in Tel Aviv (Canadian). My gut feeling is to go with Dr Litman.

Shavua tov!

Thanks for your answer @SuzieSam .

Last lime I saw Dr Rahav was 2 years ago, and she told me to try medical cannabis. She didn't give me a lot of testing back in 1998 (EBV was strongly positive (IGM) ). Back then, she prescribed me some antidepressant for the fibro pain, but it had little success and many side-effects so I stopped it after 6 months.
I stopped seeing her 10 years (except the last visit 2 years ago) as there was little she could do for me.

For hormone/endocrine imbalance I saw Dr Yisroel Yaffe a few years ago in Bet Shemesh. I didn't hear about Dr Litman in Tel-Aviv.
The tests he ordered for me (Doctor's data) were helpful to confirm imbalances. I took some bio-identical hormones to compensate (progesterone) and also herbals for adrenal support (cortisol production deficiency), but it didn't do the trick. I had the feeling that this illness is too complicated and need more investigation.

What is missing is a really good internist who is interested by the illness and is ready to help the patient.
I hope that you will have more luck with Dr El Hacham and Litman.
Shavua Tov!

It's good to have confirmation that I'm right not to waste my time with Dr Rahav! It's so stupid and frustrating that the mainstream doctors here don't learn from the good ones in the US and do more. Do anything at all!

It seems Dr Yaffe only looks at hormones, not at the rest?

Yes, it's so complicated that treating just one level isn't likely to cure us. Sleep problems, hormones, infections, nutrition deficits... I'm going to go through them one by one - I've wasted 8 years of my life being sick and scared to waste money going to private doctors. But I'm wasting my life! No more. It won't cure itself.

Suzie, was wondering if you could share the info with me - I'm also seeking someone in Israel for testing. Thank you.
