I took Nitroglycerin tonight and it helped! What does this mean?

So, with KPax Energy, you don't use ritalin but depend on the caffeine for similar effect?
And with KPax Immune, you have to use ritalin? (suggested dosage is 4 tablets am and 4 tablets by 3pm)

If I understand correctly, there is NO option available to order the ritalin formula on-line whatsoever. That was just for the Synergy Test Trial.
For consumers who weren't part of the trial but would like to have that formula replicated as closely as possible, following the suggested Kpax regimen would be a close equivalent (except that the Ritalin has been replaced with caffeine). The Kpax regimen includes both the Immune and the Energy formulas

But some people do not want to take the Energy tablets b/c they are concerned the caffeine will make them too stimulated. In that case, they would take the Immune tablets only. The Immune is for people wanting to have the nutrient formula of the Energy ....the same key 3 amino acids and other nutrients, minus the caffeine.

Note: the reps say that the amounts of caffeine used in the Energy formula are so small (less than a cup of coffee) yet apparently very beneficial at getting the nutrients into the mitrochondria.

Realize, this is my understanding of the KPAX forumulas. Questions re: precise protocols and ingrediants can be directed to customer service. I've spoke with both Deidre and Anne, both of whom are lovely to talk with. :)

Energy label is based on 2 tablets, Immune label is based on 4, so comparing required rudimentary math - no longer my forte lol

Ya, I agree! It can be confusing given that the hallmark of our disorder is PEM....Hello???...cognitive impairment!!

Have not used nitro again b/c my BP is too low to try it. Am not doing well (see my ongoing mold & histamine thread for my complete tale of woe LOL.) Thanks for asking @deleder2k.

I haven't mentioned this in my nicorandil thread but just after posting that, I started experimenting with GTN patches, sublingual spray and isosorbide tablets to see what worked best with nicorandil to control the occasional break-out pain that was getting more problematic since having my bowel perforated during the colonoscopy procedure during which they diagnosed bowel ischemia.

I now regularly also use a GTN patch and even using these two normally anti-hypertensive drugs together did not drop my bp from the increased level I have on nicorandil alone. In combination, it doesn't raise my bp either but I know for a fact that that it helps with bp from my last visit to the emergency room with a severe ischemic bowel attack that still occurs on the odd occasion.

I had a cardiac specialist telling me the GTN patch was causing both the ischemic attack and low blood pressure that always occur with it. He had very little to say for himself when I removed the patch at his insistence which resulted in a further 5 point fall in my bp within 60 seconds.

There is obviously a mechanism going wrong for some that is not yet understood.

@kangaSue, do you experience a relief in ME related symptoms while taking it? What works? GTN/isosorbide mononitrate/spray?

My apologies, I should have made it known that I don't actually have ME/CFS. I'm more just a visitor to this forum trying to fathom my own issues of gastroparesis and intestinal ischemia which is somehow tied in with me having low blood pressure and why it could be that I can raise my bp with supposed bp lowering meds.

I did make that known in my thread on nicorandil which I know Gingergrrl read so my post was about letting her know that there were others around that don't get a drop in bp from vasodilators when that is the normal result for the majority of the population.

For what it's worth, GTN patches at 5 mg or more and isosorbide slow release tablets in combination with nicorandil crash my system after about 10 days of consecutive use (severe gut pain, like 10/10 on the pain scale). Nicorandil/ GTN (1/2 of a 5 mg patch) combo works best for me for pain relief, with the proviso that I remove the patch after 12 hours each day. I can't use GTN patches alone because I cannot eat a solids diet without including nicorandil.

Nitrolingual spray and sublingual Isosorbide are too fast acting to afford me any extra pain relief and also result in a headache. I did read in the following paper that GTN at low dose has a far greater conversion to NO than GTN at high dose. The article also said GTN is 100-fold more potent at vasodilation compared to isosorbide.
