Help with test results? Severe insomnia, anxiety

Hi, I suffer from mind-racing and insomnia. I have tons of trouble falling asleep at night because I can't shut off my mind. Xanax seems to work for me, but leaves me feeling blah the next day. I cut the dose in half to 2.5 which helped. Trazadone didn't help. GABA (Kavinace) did for a few nights but then stopped. Nothing else works - tried valerian root, melatonin, ambien, benadryl - everything. only alcohol or Xanax allow me to turn off my brain. My husband thinks it has something to do with my digestion/bacteria. I took a lot of antibiotics (as a child and a few years ago to treat h pylori) and see I have gut dysbiosis, and have been eating fermented foods and taking a soil based probiotic, and now bifido to help with constipation. Looks like my digestion is not good either. My doc was no help, I think she doesn't know how to interpret these tests other than the vitamins needed. She put me on NAC, S Boulardii, Vit D, iron and betaine hcl. My GP won't even look at the tests because she didn't train that way. I also took Humaworm for 14 days to clear out salmonella. If anyone has suggestions they would be very much appreciated! (I am using my husband's log-in and he posts many places for his own issues)
Thank you!,

You might try magnesium glycinate. It's not going to be anything like a benzodiazepine but it can have a calming effect.

Eventually B12 resolved my life-long insomnia. The anxiety resolved in stages, initially going gluten-free. Later a variety of minerals, starting w/ those for pyroluria. See pyroluria questionnaire linked below. I never had blood tests for pyroluria, only self-diagnosed from the test and ordered the supps. Felt benefits in 5 days. Later detoxxing metals, leading to a major adrenal detox, shifted all my life-long triad of irritability, agitation, low threshold for frustration.

But these things sound peripheral to your main issues. I'm pasting in some links here from a recent Digestion Sessions online forum. I haven't listened to all the speakers. These presenters and the info they share seems now to be core to a huge number of our illnesses. Additionally, listen to neurologist David Perlmutter. He's starting a new journal, Brain Gut journal. He believes about 80% of our issues are originating in gut. I'm pasting a link to his talk in recent autoimmune summit. It's still a live link for me, but as you didn't register, I don't know what you'll find. Anything w/ Dr.Alan Christianson is excellent.

Also lot's of info from Anxiety Summit. Again, this ended last week, but there are blogs, purchases available.

Finally, I'm linking some info from the Digestion Sessions. I don't know how much, again, is available to you as non-registered, but check it out.
