Has anyone tried Venofer IV's to increase iron/ferritin?

Did anyone ever end up trying the IV iron?

I did not end up doing the iron infusions b/c when I asked my MCAS doctor last year, he said that he considers them very risky and would only let one of his patients do the first infusion in the hospital. He did not feel it would be safe for me and he felt the iron infusions had a higher anaphylaxis risk than IVIG or Rituximab. I do not know if this is true across the board but was his opinion when I asked him last year.

Thanks for the reply. I totally understand your hesitation. It's not worth a huge reaction. I did end up trying it. No reaction so far. I was stunned. I react to b12 but not iron. Very strange indeed. I'll fill everyone in once a couple weeks pass to see if it made any difference in energy
