My fever continued to go down over the next two days (until I finished the abx) after the doc refused me more antibiotics because my lungs were clear, so I think I still had the bacterial infection. However, I did not have further lung problems with the relapse infection, so it was probably viral. I'm not sure why finishing a course of antibiotics would cause a viral infection. Perhaps it just clears the playing field of bacteria, bad and good.
