How common is Fatty liver amongst CFS & ME patients?

How many of you have elevated alanine transaminase on a liver function test? I'm particuarly interested if there are any who do not have the risk factors eg alcoholism or obesity or excessive consumption of fats and oils.
That's certainly my case. Fatty liver with elevated ALT and GGT. No history of obesity/alcoholism.

Liver doctor suspects it's viral, but didn't order any more tests. However, I did just get a positive EBV test from an outside lab. I'll talk to my doc about that result at my next appointment.

PS. I ran across this press release from Washington University School of Medicine a couple days ago. Perhaps it might point the way to an eventual treatment.

Natural sugar may treat fatty liver disease
Mouse study shows the sugar trehalose triggers liver cells to clean up their excess fat

This isn’t a new post, but I have higher than normal ALT. I have read it can be caused by EBV and I think my ME/CFS is caused by EBV. I’ve also got enlarged lymph nodes and this is linked to EBV too. I'm been checked for lymphoproliferative disease which can also be caused by EBV. I have a lot of symptoms that point to EBV, anyone else have anything similar? Thanks.

I have no doubt that EBV caused my CFS. This was confirmed by a CFS specialist/immunologist. The capabilities of a virus are endless. I believe that is why people can get so many varied symptoms that end up as labeled as all sorts of different things. EBV can attack the liver for sure as well as other organs and glands.
