I googled Lyme in the UK on Pubmed and this was the first article I found.

I remember Prof. Edwards saying that he had never seen a tick in the UK; I haven't either, but if we doubt the prevalence of ticks in the UK we have to come up with an alternative mechanism for getting Lyme into all those squirrels!

Reality is stranger than fiction. I wonder if squirrels can be vectors in various ways?

You mean you might get Lyme from eating one? I'll have to learn some new dishes...
