@ebethc inosine is not the same as an antiviral. It is an immune booster or modulator. I forget which. It's the same as isoprinosine (immunovir)

I know @heapsreal has said inosine doesn't help him vs isoprinosine which has.

I have tried isoprinosine and stopped due to cost and don't notice much of a difference.

People smarter than me can better explain what it does.
