Strategic voting, good people.

If the top ten all get the same prize each, then it doesn't matter where a winner is in the top ten, as long as they are in it. Therefore, at least some of us can switch from voting for the National ME/FM Action Network to voting for the two other organisations to keep them in the top ten as well.

@Sean Where are the totals posted? Can you provide a link?

A drawing will be held among the 20 organizations with the most number of votes to determine 10 winners.

I think you meant top 20!

I suppose, but how about if our org doesn't win the drawing, that kind of sucks! We are blowing the other orgs out of the water!

GG

I kind of agree... on the other hand, if the winners are picked at random (out of the top 20), then it maks sense to get as many orgs into the top 20 as possible.

Anyone know if the winners are picked randomly, or by judges?

There are currently 4 ME/FM related organisations in the top 20:

http://www.karmacanada.ca/contest/organizations/national-mefm-action-network/
http://www.karmacanada.ca/contest/organizations/fibromyalgia-support-group-of-winnipeg-inc/
http://www.karmacanada.ca/contest/organizations/mefm-society-of-bc/
http://www.karmacanada.ca/contest/o...ington-myalgic-encephalomyelitis-association/

If we can keep all 4 in there, then we have a very high chance of at least one getting some money.

The best strategy might be to vote for whichever of those 4 has the least number of votes.

Do you have the time/energy to keep us informed on who we should be voting for?

Something like this?

I will update it every 3-4 days until the contest ends (on August 31st).

The National ME/FM Action Network is so far ahead that they can afford to lose a few votes to keep the other 3 in the top 20.

I'm familiar with the National ME/FM Action Network and their work; a lot of really great work so far.

The other ones however, I don't know anything about. Those of you who are rooting for them, could you please write a bit about why you choose to support their work? What research have they put money into so far? Do they have a wholly biomedical approach? What do they currently do for severe sufferers? What kind of upcoming projects do they have?

Fair questions. I am basing my suggestions on the presumption that all 4 organisations are actually doing good work for us. That may not be the case.

Unless one of these Orgs. is pushing psycho babble, wouldn't think any harm can come of this, and only positives! perhaps some mention in the media, and some orgs can make a few bucks go a long ways!

alright, good to know :) i'd be happy to support other organisations as well, but i would want to find out a bit more about them first... (btw, please don't take this as criticism -- i'm just curious! :) )

I was thinking more along the line of "now it is time to start voting for ____" if the lowest one changed.
How about:
