So I've been worse lately and considering that it could be a flareup of lyme. I am finally considering trying the buhner protocol which has herbal antimicrobials and immune support, etc...
I'm kind of concerned that it could interact badly with medications or supplements I am already taking.
Also do herbal antimicrobials have the same risk as antibiotics if you don't finish out the full course of them? like causing resistance??

Buhner would probably tell you you don't need to worry about bugs developing resistance with full herbs the way you would with drugs. The main reason for this is that it's thought herbs have more than one active agent within them. For instance Buhner has written that babesia resistance to artemisinin can develop when used by itself, but resistance to wormwood is unlikely.

As for interactions, I'd recommend studying the work of LLMD's to figure thing out.

that's interesting. i'll probably stop until i have some better way to test if i have an infection then. i feel between a rock and a hard place with this treatment. I don't know if i trust a lot of LLMDs, who don't take insurance and some of them seem like quacks who exploit desperate people. but on the other hand, regular infectious disease specialist hasn't been helpful. idk wat to do

ugh i think i am having allergic reactions to the andrographis. my throat has felt dry/sore/itchy and like it's closing up for the past few hours. according to buhner, allergic reactions to the andrographis are fairly common

Our experience is that Buhner's herbs are more effective than antibiotics, but Buhner himself says that it is a bit of a 'horse for courses' thing (although he doesn't use those words).

Some people do better on his herbs, some do better on antibiotics, and some do better on another approach (e.g. Byron White). Some people need herbs + antibiotics.

If you are serious about trying Buhner, it would be worth joining the facebook group. They're a supportive bunch.

Everyone will tell you to start with very small doses of one herb at a time.
