I was wondering if someone knowledgeable could help me. This was the cause of my initial onset of ME/CFS, & I was wondering if it has the ability to remain in the body like EBV & HH6?

From what I can gather it is considered an infection not a virus so it would be different. I was just wondering as I think I have it again, I can't get to the doctor at the moment due to health (lol) so I'm only speculating.

I get Bronchitis alot & was just improving when the symptoms changed.

Hi Googsta, Bordetella Pertussi is a bacterial not a viral infection, to the best of my knowledge it stays in the body for a certain period of time around 100 days and either the body kills it, or it rarely kills the patient, Im not aware of any literature that says that it can remain in the body like EBV. It is however possible to get re infected with it. There an interesting article about it here http://cassievk.wordpress.com/

You can get tested for it when youre well enough to get to the doctor.

I used to get Bronchitis all the time as well, the thing that fixed recurring Bronchitis for me was curing vitamin D deficiency.

I think it is very doubtful that you have a persistent Bordetella infection, most likely is that you have some other infection happening, or you have been re infected with Bordetella. If things get any worse find a way to get yourself to a doctor.

Hope this helps

All the best

Thanks Rlc,

I'm on top of the Vitamin D situation but still getting respiratory infections, perhaps there is another lingering infection that needs more agressive treatment.

I'm considering giving LDN a try.
Hope to make the docs this week.

Thanks for the link too :Retro wink:
