Apparently, the Belgian National Health Insurance Institute has successfully sued two
CFS/ME doctors for more than half a million euros.

Does anyone know any more about this article?

Sounds like this might be the beginning of a lot of CFS legal action.

Were they suing the doctors for imposing GET or for not imposing GET?
I had the impression (confused by the weird translation) that the insurance company brought the action because the doctors had prescribed medications for co-infections, which the insurance companies did not want to pay out for.
The fact that the verdict was decided before hearing the evidence is very alarming to me. I think this is extremely worrying.

By the article, the health insurance Institute sued the doctors for treating the comorbid conditions of CFS... instead of making the patients do CBT. (the patients disagree with CBT).

That sucks.. the two doctors sound like genuine CFS specialists who did know what this illness is all about and were actually treating the patients according to their needs. They got fined and now have to pay back all the money for the meds there patients had too. i guess that will scare other doctors over there in treating CFS patients differently from CBT

unbelievable - doctors getting sued for failing to neglect their patients

most of the time with any other illness, pushing CBT w/o other treatments would be considered neglect/malpractice and they would be in danger of getting sued over that - in this case, by actually practicing properly, they are sued (& they lost)
