Although the article is about weight gain it seems to me to have implications for many other body processes.
It goes some way to explaining why different people have different food needs/problems.

The article suggests that the same bacteria (as that of others) in our microbiome may react differently (depending perhaps on genetics?).

So not only are our gut bacteria different but the same bacteria respond differently.
