That's right. In addition to the murine IAPs that indicate contamination with mouse cells there are human IAPs in cases of either exogenous retroviral infection or activation of endogenous retroviruses. If murine retroviruses did infect humans for any substantial length of time you could expect IAPs which would be very hard to distinguish from murine IAPs.
