Only 10 days left to take advantage of the triple top-up - $1 donated, gets another $3 added to it

You don’t have to be a world leader or a billionaire to give back. #GivingTuesday is about ordinary people coming together doing extraordinary things. Open Medicine Foundation is joining this call to action to create a global day of giving to help millions suffering with ME/CFS and other related chronic, complex diseases.

We are thrilled to announce that several generous anonymous donors have stepped forward to join Dr. Deborah Rose to provide a $120,000 match to help us reach our NEW GOAL of $160,000!!! Every $1 donated will be matched $3 to bring us closer to ending ME/CFS.

Please join our #GivingTuesdayOMF campaign!

The OMF #GivingTuesday campaign will run from October 15 – November 29, 2016.

TRIPLE GIVING TUESDAY

Have you heard the expression, "It takes a village"? OMF is a global village of patients, researchers, caregivers, parents, advocates, donors, and volunteers. OMF is the leading research organization world-wide working to find a cure for ME/CFS and related chronic, complex diseases because of you.

Working together as a village we are committed to finding answers.

For OMF to achieve our goals we are fortunate to have committed volunteers around the globe who spend countless hours to help us in many ways. We are grateful to each and every volunteer and appreciate your effort whether you spend one hour or one hundred hours. Research, outreach, education, fundraising, governance, media, operations and administration. Every volunteer, in every capacity is helping us to reach for our goal.

OMF is grateful that you are a part of our "village" that spans the globe in 97 countries.

We are excited to announce that board member, Dr. Deborah Rose, has again stepped up and is increasing our Triple Giving Tuesday matching gift. Our new Triple Giving Tuesday fundraising goal is $187,333. We have one more week and are confident that our 'village' will help us reach this goal.

If you have already donated, thank you!! If you have not yet made your donation, please donate now.
Every $1 is matched with $3 through November 29. And to those amazing volunteers who have invited their family and friends to donate to Triple Giving Tuesday, thank you!!

My hayfever kicked in when reading this update from the OMF... ;)

As Thanksgiving approaches, I'm reflecting on what I'm most thankful for.

10 years ago I was abruptly introduced to the ME/CFS community by the sudden onset in my 16 year old daughter. After countless doctor appointments, emergency room visits and trips to specialists, we received the life-changing diagnosis. As I have learned, this diagnosis effects everyone in the patients' life.
My experience set my life on a new journey. Coming from a science background, I was fortunate to understand and had some knowledge of what to push for to help my daughter. For that I am thankful.
Over the past 10 years, many of you have opened your homes and your hearts for me to meet with you and learn from your ME/CFS experience. For that I am thankful.
This journey brought me together with one of the brightest minds of our time, Ronald W. Davis, PhD. Dr. Ron Davis is a compassionate, brilliant and out-of-the-box researcher. For Dr. Davis' commitment to leading our research, I am eternally thankful.

For each of these reasons and for each and everyone of you, I am thankful.

I am grateful each and every day for the chance to lead OMF in our fight to overcome this horrific disease. I know that the holidays are very difficult for many of you; may this ray of hope that researchers are working on finding answers carry you through this holiday season.
Thank you again for standing with me and OMF in the battle against ME/CFS and chronic, complex diseases during this season of hope and gratitude.
Wishing you a season of compassion, love, friendship and gratitude.

With all my thanks,
Linda

Bump to remind people the match offer ends November 29th.

And also to say my wife just donated $125, which will be matched with another $375, making another $500 towards the target.

Thank you for the reminder @AndyPR, and for the donations from you, and your wife! :)

Thank you everyone for doing what you can.

3 more days to triple your donation.

Thank you too Ben, and the wonderful people (sorry too tired to look up the nice ladies/doctors? names) who are tripling our donations, and everyone at OMF!

One more day. Please donate if you can. Thank you to everyone that's donated. Every little bit adds up, and through tomorrow it will be tripled! :balloons:

I was looking at donation sites for Veterans for Standing Rock and Sacred Stone Legal. From many small donations, they raised for one over $500,000 and the other over $2 million I picture this for us and our research, the little donations do make a difference! :) As well as the big ones, too! Thank you everyone for doing what you can do.
