Telephone-administered versus live group cognitive behavioral stress management for adults with CFS

"Conflicts of interest and source of funding: Michael H. Antoni, the principal investigator of this study, as well as Daniel L. Hall, Emily G. Lattie, Sara Czaja, Mary Ann Fletcher, Nancy Klimas, and Dolores Perdomo received funding for this study through the National Institutes of Health (...

    Sick-in Protest - Toronto Oct 6th - promo video

Thank you Scott. I can't be there, unfortunately (housebound), but shoes and tag will be. I hope it goes well. People with M.E. have been ignored and dismissed in Canada for decades.

Book published this week in UK referring to ME as psychosomatic

Re: "Abstract for review in "Brain: a journal of neurology" (posted by Dolphin, above). Christopher Bass, U.K. psychiatrist, has written articles about 'factitious disorder' - patients who simulate symptoms and are deceptive malingerers. (In the most severe cases, it used to be known as...

    Sam Cam’s sister stricken with M.E. for a year | Daily Mail | 27 June 2015

I think that Scarecrow has likely found the 'renowned specialist'. ↑↑ There's another name which is very familiar. "Professor Wessely has been a consultant liaison psychiatrist at King’s College Hospital and the Maudsley Hospital since 1991, where he set up the first NHS service for sufferers...

    Sam Cam’s sister stricken with M.E. for a year | Daily Mail | 27 June 2015

I'm a bit late to this but, as much as I think the Daily Mail is a rag, I think it was a direct quote. I'm basing that on her tweets. In one of them, she said she had CBT at Maudsley and this was another tweet: Emily Sheffield‏@emilysheffield Jun 30 @TweetTipsforME The swim was a turning...

Book published this week in UK referring to ME as psychosomatic

He's, clearly, obsessed with the book and the message it's sending or why would he have come back in to reply to the psychologist/philosopher Richard Gipps' comment - a comment which, yes, missed the point AGAIN. You can't educate someone who has absolutely no interest in being educated, Nasim...

Book published this week in UK referring to ME as psychosomatic

@nasim marie jafry - I checked up on him because the whole thing seemed so bizarre. "Brian R. Martin is emeritus professor of physics at University College London, where he was Head of the Physics Department until 2004." Why someone like that would even get involved seemed rather strange...

    Depression Poll

Why on earth is PR asking people to vote about whether or not they're depressed? It's no wonder that so many people with M.E. (M.E., not the wastebasket diagnosis of CFS - one which includes so many people who do not have the physical disease, M.E., as defined by the WHO or the CCC or, even...

    Thoughts on Fundraising for ME

@Keela Too - Yes, they are. The one who is walking 450 miles and riding a mobility scooter 450 miles is 62 and the one who is walking 900 miles is 40 years old.

    Thoughts on Fundraising for ME

Keela Too said, "In fairness, some of the 900 mile walk will be done on a mobility scooter... Not that that makes much difference to the overall scale of the challenge." (I don't know how to do the thing where a previous comment shows up in beige/yellow. :-) ) Just to clarify - The one man who...

Since your ME/CFS onset, have you caught the Cold & or Flu more or less frequently?

    2. I've had M.E. for 28 years - I've done some recalculating and I think I can, finally, pinpoint when I got it, although I didn't crash until 3 years later, but I dragged myself around for those three years. I can't remember the last time I had a flu shot - not because of cognitive impairment...

The Subverting of the ME/CFS Mind

Bravo, Jody! A very welcome article. I can't say much, right now, because it has hit too close to home (although, that's good - I'm glad you did). I'm very fortunate in that I don't have the financial problems which so many people have and I know how fortunate I am, in that. But the people...

Since your ME/CFS onset, have you caught the Cold & or Flu more or less frequently?

Valentijn said - "Another thing to take into account is the very strong similarities between PEM and having a nice flu or cold. I think many people attribute PEM symptoms to catching viruses until they learn about PEM and are better able to differentiate between them." That's a very...

Since your ME/CFS onset, have you caught the Cold & or Flu more or less frequently?

Hi everyone - newbie member here and, oh no, I just lost 4 paragraphs I'd written! My brain isn't working very well, tonight, so that's not good and I don't know how I managed to do that.:( Try again. I've had M.E. since 1989. Prior to that, I caught colds and the flu the same as everyone...
