Yet another place to look for XMRV

Yes, she is, and I remember from somewhere that she said they had found XMRV in 35% of samples from autistic kids.

    Anyone Tried NADH for Energy?

I read about NADH a long time ago, in a placebo controlled study of CFS sufferers who reported good results from using it. I tried it and have been using it for years. I take the 10mg tab, usually, but the last time I bought it, the sublingual was on sale, much cheaper, so I bought that instead...

    Stem Cells

No, I don't think those clinics are in there. It seems to be a voluntary association. And it has a lot of interesting info. I looked into the one listed in El Salvador, part of a group of clinics run by an Argentinian, it seems. Very interesting, lots of patient testimonials. Nothing on CFS per...

Would like to say I'm in, but would need to know when and how much? I probably won't have the money to do. Certainly don't have it now.

I too am offended by threats to close threads....for?...bickering??? I'd really like to have a clear idea of what this forum is for. Is it to provide a platform for discrediting WPI and XMRV? If so, I'd like to go somewhere else and take Gerwyn with me. If not, I'd like to know that those who...

Why Dont Doctors Listen to Women?

One obvious reason for more females with CFS/ME would be that it is probably an immune disease or has a huge immune component. Women generally have more "autoimmune" diseases, such as lupus. This is because the female immune system is different from the male; women have to able to tolerate...

    Scandal in BMJ's XMRV/CFS Research

Thanks Parvo. I'll bet the BMJ will think twice before printing anymore garbage like that, so your efforts were not at all in vain.

Why Dont Doctors Listen to Women?

FWIW, in my experience DOs, Doctors of Osteopathy, have a better attitude and are more likely to listen, than MDs. And younger doctors, especially male ones, are much better than older ones. Younger men have grown up with equality, so it's only the "doctor arrogance" that we have to deal with...

You're right. I may debate Cort pretty often, but I've never thought he was malicious. (Can't say the same for everyone here...but that's another story...)

Chuckle, chuckle. Is gender now ascertained by 'concensus'? Why not just check his profile? Oerganix... wondering what the concensus on my gender would be, if it wasn't already known?

Thanks Advocate. Gerwyn's profile indicates that he is a 'househusband' and his wife is an angel, so this is not an 'outing' of him. I suspect he finds it amusing that some call him 'she', as he has never corrected it. I admit, not knowing Welsh names, I thought he was a 'she' at first, too...

    German study finds xmrv

I also think that airtravel may have had something to do with my illness. I was a travel agent in the late 70s, early '80s, and I would get sick every time I flew more than a short distance. My coworker said to me, you don't like to fly, do you? That wasn't true; I loved to fly; in those days...

Thanks Knackered, I thought that vid was on point. I wasn't going to go there, but I have often thought that some of the attacks on Gerwyn are because some think he is a woman who doesn't "know her place". Like some of our heroines? Like calling Dr Mikovits "shrill"...a name I've never heard...

VIP Dx Culture Test Poll For A LATENT Infection

"If VipDX can't cope with the demand, could the WPI not license out the technology to anyone willing to re-sell the test? (Not just VIPdx) and on a global scale?" It was my understanding that they do license the technology to other labs. Am I mistaken? Maybe other labs are waiting to get the...

    Stem Cells

See this thread for stem cell treatment of something docs in Australia are calling a "new disease", which sounds just like ME/CFS. http://www.forums.aboutmecfs.org/showthread.php?5023-Aussie-doctors-identify-new-disease&p=81842#post81842

    Aussie doctors identify new disease

Sounds like ME to me, but hey, if they want to call it something else, great! Better than what we have now. And the treatment they used, stem cells, is already being used by Dr Cheney for CFS. See the Stem Cell Treatment thread...

    Stem Cells

Thanks for the research David. I agree, the stem cell picture looks pretty good, as far as we know, especially compared to the possibility of antiretroviral drugs and all the damage they are capable of doing. I, too, await Dr Cheney's summer report on the patients he has sent for this...

    Low dose Naltrexone

I get mine online from internationaldrugmart.com (India) You have to have a prescription. Paddygirl, I think you could probably find a doc in India who would prescribe for you and you could buy it there. Don't know, but the guys at internationaldrugmart have a toll free number, and seem...

    Low dose Naltrexone

The original site I read recommended the bottle or jar be brown to exclude light, but I don't have any idea whether this is really required. Re the method shown in the video, I've basically been doing the same thing, EXCEPT the cutting of the pill. It totally isn't necessary. I usually mix up...

Lightning Process to be Evaluated in Research Study on Children

I wonder whether a "scientific" study such as this can take into consideration the significant side effect of having a "trainee" be required to say the opposite of what they feel, if they feel bad, terrible, misable, sick, exhausted, in pain, etc. Permitting not a whisper of negative outcomes...

Article: An MD on the Lightning Process

Yuk! So they're going forward with it? If school attendence is the measure of outcome they at least won't be able to fake that...but those poor kids, subject to brainwashing at a young age. Will there be anybody to keep in touch with the drop outs? The 'controls' are to have 'specialist...

    A Doctor's Wake-Up Call on "Awareness" Day

Yes, we need to be up to the minute on such regulations. If he is in a nursing home, he is probably not getting food stamps. How about "we" buy the wheelchair and "loan" it to Dr Yes, IF it should turn out to be a problem, which I am not convinced it is. With the right doc, it might be...

Yes, this seems like an approach that might be productive, to get some CFS research out of some of the programs that already have a pile of money, like cancer, communicable diseases (if it proves to be communicable via XMRV) and autoimmune diseases, which is very well funded. Cancer research...

Eric, you do not have to prove to who you are. I believed you when you said English is not your first language. I have had several Swiss friends, most who do not use English as well as you do. I would suggest you delete your personal information from the above post, for your own ID safety.

Unfortunately, there is no forum rule against trolling is there? Of course, no one can "prove" anything about a troll...that is why they can go about trolling and get away with it. Ervish has mischaracterized the products in question as "snake oil" when in fact the study in the press release...
