Alegria says: CFS is a "Neurasthenia Spectrum Disorder" (2012)!

doctors usually refer CFS/FMS patients to psychiatrists because they are clueless -- they are required to take action, as the patient is clearly ill and VOILA, enter the psychiatrist! problem offloaded!

Prof Stephen Holgate @AfME conference "we are bathing in ignorance"

you make some good points! I don't believe illnesses such as CFS, FMS, IBS etc will be treated by psychological therapies either, for the simple reason that those who have been taken ill (usually) have no psychological symptoms

Prof Stephen Holgate @AfME conference "we are bathing in ignorance"

No. it is well established that stress weakens your immune system Stress has been present among many who have been taken ill. But feel free to ignore this if you are convinced that CFS, FMS etc have little or nothing to do with stress

Prof Stephen Holgate @AfME conference "we are bathing in ignorance"

what were the other factors in your opinion? It is very strange to dismiss the role of stress as "neither necessary nor sufficient" (whatever that means)

Currently ill on valtrex - thinking of switching to famvir.

I said it's a good idea to reduce exertion - read my post again. If you agree with that, then your post is redundant or maybe you have too much free time on your hands?

How successful are diets for cfs?

The value in avoiding certain kinds of foods or including dietary supplements in helping with CFS/ME symptoms has been exaggerated IMHO. Diet alone is unlikely to make much difference. If diet was the reason why these symptoms existed then tens of millions of people in places like India, where...

    Experience with Dr.Levine

Really ? what did this specialist find? and did the specialist have any idea where this 'abnormality' had come from?
  26. B

    Experience with Dr.Levine
