Best ongoing monthly tests to track progress?

I'm putting together a list of monthly labs for my GP that we can use to track the progress of various treatments (in between specialist visits).

I'm basing it on the latest metabolic and immunological research, previous abnormalities that have been found in my labs, and what can get covered by insurance.

My causal theory is that a pathogen (which may or may not still be present) is causing an aberrant immune response which is in turn disrupting my Krebs cycle and collectively contributing to symptoms.

My treatment protocol in a nutshell is targeting the virus through antiviral supplements, calming the immune response (be it unknown autoimmune antibodies or autoinflammatory cytokines) with IVIG, and supporting the disrupted metabolic enzymes with various nutritional supplements.

Would love feedback on whether this makes sense and if these are the right components to track. Thanks!
  1. Cytokine panel
  2. Organic acids (would urine make more sense?)
  3. ADH
  4. Coxsackie B

It makes sense but I think it will vary from person to person. For me, we track autoantibodies and MCAS markers (like histamine and prostaglandins), my thyroid levels b/c I have Hashimoto's, and Cortisol b/c I am on Cortef. We stopped tracking viral titers after 3-4 yrs b/c they didn't really add anything to the picture. My ADH (vasopressin) remains undetectable for years and doubtful this will ever change. I have never had any cytokine tests but have always been interested in this.

Edit: I wanted to add that in my case, tests for POTS and for breathing (spirometry) would be crucial because they truly measure improvement. I also measure by physical ability and each time I do something (no matter how basic) that I could not do prior to IVIG, it is striking to me. So maybe also tests of functionality (muscle strength, how many steps someone can walk, autonomic testing, etc, in addition to blood tests)?

Thanks for the feedback Ginger! I think your main doc could probably order the cytokine test.

other inflammatory markers such as C3a C4a? one of those I cannot remember...C3a I think...

leaky gut testing?

Thanks! Do you know a good leaky gut test to run?

No problem, thank you!
