Leg pain

Hello
I am wondering if anyone has intense leg pain, I have been having this for the last few weeks, I am pacing and not doing that much so not sure why this is happening.
It's painful enough to make me in tears at night.
I am at the docs tomorrow but all she say is go to the ME clinic and I haven't been for months as it's not helpful.
I don't know what this but it's getting worse I can hardly walk.
Thank you

It would be good to ask the docs tomorrow to check out any musculoskeletal reasons as to why you are having the pain. If they say there is none that they can find, then you have either the option to try to get someone to address it as possible neuropathic pain or attempt to wait it out. Our son had a similar episode of pain, we had him checked out by a Physical Therapist who was expert in Foot/ankle problems. He cleared it from musculoskeletal standpoint. So we kept him going and waited it out. I believe he did take Celebrex during that time period. Not sure if it helped or not. Eventually it went away. He did use crutches to get around until his pain was better.

Not sure that is very helpful, but it is what we experienced.

What you are describing may be one of several things, but I feel it's not for you or this forum to make the call. Please, go see a doctor about this; It may be something serious (blood clot moving) hopefully not; ( deep vein thrombosis),etc

What is the location on the leg?

#1 priority: right away, see a doctor. try urgent care, and if you must, then go to the hospital ER.

ME/CFS can cause pain in the muscles, joints and nerves (neuropathic pain)

In relation to muscle pain, this can be like ME/CFS fatigue and be exercise/activity induced

But pain in the legs, especially when it is clearly related to exercise, can have other causes - including problems with the arteries that supply blood to the legs, which is known as intermittent claudication

It can be caused by conditions that may be linked to ME/CFS - restless legs syndrome for example

It can also be caused by arthritis in the joints and a 'trapped nerve' in the lower back/spine

So if this is a significant or new problem you must to go and see your GP - who can properly examine your legs and check the arteries

If the pain is related to ME/CFS we have an MEA information leaflet that covers all aspects of pain relief - drug and non drug - in ME/CFS:

http://www.meassociation.org.uk/shop/management-leaflets/coping-with-pain/

We also have MEA leaflets covering all the drugs - amitriptyline, duloxetine, gabapentin, pregabalin - that people find helpful for pain relief in ME/CFS

Info on intermittent claudication:

I have enormous pain in my legs. After or during activity it feels like someone is squeezing my leg muscles. Feels like someone is tightening a rope around the inside of my legs. The pain correlates to the severity of my ME. I am in a very bad period at the moment, and the pain has been immense. I am now on OxyContin because of this. The pain in my legs gets worse during the day after walking a few metres, having a shower and standing on my feet. The only thing that have has worked to make the pain, muscle spasms and lactic acid go away is a bottle of wine ++. I've tried out vasodilating drugs to see if it reduces pain, but no luck so far. I've tried nitroglycerin spray and also Imdur (isosorbide mononitrate). I've also tried a calicium blocker called Verapamil. I'm also taking L-arginine and citrulline. I'm not 100% sure that it makes things better, but I have a feeling that it might. Cialis (tadalafil) is also something that could help if you have the same issue as me.

I am considering going to a private cardiologist to try out several drugs, but I'm not sure where to find one that is willing to try out all vasodilating drugs out there.. :/

is it lactic acid build up from over use (which would b a burning pain)? that the 1st thing that comes 2 mind. if so, theres nothing u can do 4 it but stop overusing.
