This is a nice thread about renting a special beach wheelchair to ride around on the sand. I didn't even know that these existed, much less that you could rent them! Anyway, I thought I'd pass this on.

Thanks @ahimsa and I just watched the video and read the blog and it looks like something I would love to try one day if given the opportunity! Not sure if we have anything like that here.

My normal 4-wheeled mobility scooter does just fine on that type of wet, hard-packed sand. I'd be more interested in seeing how it does on the loose and deep dry sand, since that's impossible on my scootmobile.

I may ask you about this some day and was wondering how they store your regular wheelchair when you are using the beach power chair?
