I think it is somewhat exaggerated. The prices are as following:
- Consultation is 5,000 NOK
- First treatment is 8,000 + consultation of 2,300. Cost of Rituximab 23,800. Same cost for the second infusion.
- Maintenance infusions: 5000 per infusion + 2,300 in consultation fee. The cost of Rituximab for the third infusion and onwards is 11,900 each time.
First consultation: 5,000 NOK (414 GBP/ 528 EUR/590 USD)
Loading doses: (8,000 + 2,300 + 23,800) * 2 = 68,200 NOK (5642 GBP/ 7193 EUR/8056 USD)
4 maintenance doses (month 3,6,9,12): (5,000 + 2,300 + 11,900) * 4 = 76,800 NOK (6353 GBP/8100 EUR/9072 USD)
Total = 150,000 NOK (12,409 GBP/15,820 EUR/17,719 USD)
Note: there could be a fee for certain blood tests
I would like to know the specific symptoms from these 1/3 recovered patiënts.
thank you deleder interesting, cost is a pleasant surprise. Living in NYC makes the other cost pretty high, travel, accommodations. It would be great if a package could be put together which included everything.
I so badly want treatment.
It seems like 1/3 gets "healthy" again, but one major point is left out from the clip: most relapse without maintenance doses. It could take a few years, but it seems that a majority relapses. But who knows, by that time we could have other drugs that are more effective.
