Orange County, CA Doctor?

I am new to the forums, but not to CFS/ME, that I have suffered with for 20 years.

I see many posts about Dr. Kaufman in Mountain View, CA. Is there a MD/clinic in the OC/LA area that would offer comparable testing?

For those of you who are patients of Dr. Kaufman, I have several questions.

Have these tests helped in securing disability insurance or are you able to qualify simply with self reporting symptoms?

Have you received any treatments, that have given significant relief from your CFS symptoms?

Thanks!

Dr. Chia is in Torrance which looks to be pretty close to you. I'm not sure he does quite as much testing as OMI, he is heavily geared towards the chronic infection theory (being an infectious disease doctor), especially enteroviruses.

I see an NP in Costa Mesa. She's up on a lot of stuff although not an ME specialist.

There isn't anyone specializing in CFS in OC. Anyone who did isn't all that great anymore.

Let me get my computer. Are you north or south county? Oh I see you are in North County. Chia might be your best bet.

My brain isn't working. Give me a few minutes. There's someone in LA.

@Joseph95 This is who I was trying to think of. I don't know much about him but I know he takes medicare.

I'm on SSDI but have been for awhile. I'm not sure what testing is now valid evidence for disability. Do you man Social Security or private disability? Which ever make sure you have all your ducks in a row before you apply. Someone just posted today their wife finally got SSDI after a year of trying.

@NK17 and @Martial live in LA. They might know of someone.

Ok, thanks, I will take a look at Dr. Chia. And I am referring to qualifying for disability through private insurance.

@Joseph95 LTD is a challenge. I'm on Unum. Here are some links. Read everything you can from Linda Nee. She has been invaluable to me. Here are a few links to get you started.

If you can afford it I'd suggest finding an attorney who gets CFS and what it takes to get LTD or even contact her for help. It's extremely stressful and difficult to navigate.
