How else to explain the extraordinary, coordinated attack on Chipotle for going GMO-free? Action Alert!

After announcing that Chipotle would make the switch to using exclusively non-GMO ingredients in their food, the restaurant chain was slammed hard by major news media outlets. Here’s a sampling of some of the headlines: “Why Chipotle Mexican Grill Going GMO-Free is Terrible News” (Time); “Chipotle’s GMO Gimmick Is Hard to Swallow” (Washington Post); “Why We Can’t Take Chipotle’s GMO Announcement All That Seriously” (NPR).

Wonder why NPR would be negative about this? I guess our gov't is bought out on this also?

Monsanto Won’t Take GMO Free Chipotle News Sitting Down

Chipotle’s GMO free announcement is a very decisive nail in the coffin for GMOs in North America with or without labeling. One thing is for sure, however: Monsanto is not about to go quietly. Astroturfed news stories about the “safety” of GMOs and how they are going to “feed the world”, Chipotle smear campaigns, takedown pieces about how Steve Ells is a “science denier”, and potential lawsuits are the likely result of the restaurant chain’s “no GMOs” line in the sand.

Monsanto, like ALL the big powerful corporations *rules* our governments and media!
Like I pointed out with vaccines, Rupert Murdoch's corporation owned £300 million of GlaxoSmithKline shares, the company that made MMR...his son was made an exec on the board of directors, so oh wasn't it a coincidence that one of his journalists went at Wakefield?
Or, with the "Phone Hacking" scandal senior management was found "not guilty" said senior management being personal friends with our Prime Minister and given a £16 million bonus by Murdoch...and the American government dropped prosecution charges against them all as well.

The corporations own the government and media.
Corporations are the biggest enemy, not terrorists

I think most people are unaware of just how widespread the corporate infiltration of the media has become...
Interlocking Directorates

Media corporations share members of the board of directors with a variety of other large corporations, including banks, investment companies, oil companies, health care and pharmaceutical companies and technology companies. This list shows board interlocks for the following major media interests:

When a restaurant chain’s decision to use traditional ingredients in its food provokes this sort of ferocious attack, you know something’s gone horribly wrong.

It’s nothing new. The world has been sleeping while biotech firms have set in motion a comprehensive set of strategies to build a media climate of enthusiastic attitudes towards GMOs.

If you want to get really depressed, read this: http://www.globalresearch.ca/biotec...-the-powers-of-corporate-manipulation/5360493

The idea that the answer to hard-pressed global food supplies is to create more monocultures eternally reliant on the commercial innovation of future genetic variants is preposterous. Once a region becomes dependent on GMOs for its food production, it also becomes dependent on a handful of corporations to keep supplying it with the next generation variants, and the next generation herbicides and pesticides to cope with the inevitable evolutionary resistance. It’s a recipe for catastrophe, human and ecological.

GMOs may have a legitimate place, but it can only be as an adjunct to traditional, biodiverse agricultural ecosystems.

The good news is that quite a few people and companies are waking up to it.

Good luck, Chipotle. They’ll be viciously attacked for some time, no doubt, but I have a feeling that customers will support them. If the move proves commercially successful, others will follow. And that’s why the biotech industry is getting quite so worked up about Chipotle. Chipotle may be the first crack in the dam.

Panera is banishing more than 150 artificial ingredients from its food

The move is part of a well-documented trend toward more “natural” fast and processed food; a response to the same consumer pressure that drove Kraft to remove the day-glo coloring from its Mac & Cheese and Chipotle to rid its menu items of GMOs. Consumers “know they should be eating better, but they’re not always sure how to do that,” said Ron Shaich, Panera’s chief executive officer, told the Journal. “What we’re trying to do is give people a simple, easy, Good Housekeeping seal-of-approval kind of approach to it.”

Even if the pro-GMO folks are right, I still can't fathom why they are so opposed to transparent labeling. If people want to eat non-GMO food because they they think it's healthier, God told them to do it, or just because they feel like it, I don't see why they should be blocked from easily selecting appropriate food.

Somehow I doubt these groups are attacking halal, kosher, or vegetarian/vegan labeling requirements with such vitriol.

Good for Chipotle and if we had transparent labeling of food & drinks in the US, it would save the lives of people with severe allergies or mast cell disorders.

you can't fathom it because your not a functional psychopath! seriously ;)
the ecology of the world is being destroyed at the orders of these egomaniacs
and still they lie about it, our civilization, perhaps our species, will come to an end this century, it's inevitable unless we get rid of those SOBs as they are obsessed with control at ANY cost
it's easy to see the threat from the tyrants of last century, it's much harder to see the dangers of greed as they hook us like heroin, lots of nice shiny stuff IF you follow their rules, and even then they screw you

at the end of WW2, a lot of folk who'd had enough, from Left and Right and so they fought again, for change
but they are gone, so now we have treasonous vermin dismantling their legacy, selling out to the corporates

horrible little thing to think on
a criminal case in the USA, high powered exec type , used his private jet for sex with minors
because of flying over international waters, expensive lawyers...well go read up about it

thing is, that's how they get their hooks in folk, lobbyists offering all kinds of bribes, drugs or trips down dark paths....
or the NSA having gathered info for decades, can turn round and blackmail a President into anything, that's not crazy that's exactly what Hoover did but he didn't have the modern technology, it's part of what Snowdon was pointing out. Why do folk still insist only the Russians/Chinese are the bas guys? they are all the SAME across the world. Damn few folk have the courage to keep their "group" clean and honest and they will always get ousted by the corrupt.
the corporates are in bed with the spooks
it's NOT about protecting us from enemies, it's about information gathering for sale/use as corporate espionage or blackmail, control, and warping the system to their benefit

Rupert Murdoch has done more damage to our civilization than ISIS and Al-Qeda could dream of.
Bombs are for amateurs, propaganda poisons entire nations!
see the headlines int he UK yesterday, Murdoch papers are not "news", they are propaganda rags
their constant attack on Scots for last few years would be a crime if we had a specific skin colour, it's evil vitriol what those damn rags spew, sigh

Amen bro, I have been saying that to anyone who would listen :)

But I wouldn't limit that statement to Murdoch, the biggest baddie of them all. The high-brow 'liberal' press is often just as manipulative. But their propaganda is cloaked in long sentences and eloquent language so harder to spot.
