Extreme weight gain

in 2008 I began to rapidly loose weight. I went from 82kg to 64 in the space of 2 months. From 2010 to 2011 I slowly regained the weight to 80kg(which is a normal weight for a male 5"10). However over the last 4 years I averaged 0.5 kilo(a little over a pound) weight gain per month, and it does not seem to be stopping. I am now 106kg and this weight gain seems out of my control. I am bloated often and dont feel I eat enough to maintain 106kg. So something must be awry. All my blood tests came back fine except for borderline low testosterone. And while that can cause weight gain, I'm not sure that would account for being 26kg overweight. To put it another way I used to eat more prior to CFS and my weight was around 84kg.

I lost weight till I was skin and bpnes. That turned around to getting fat. I got enourmous breasts and my belly looked like I was nine months pragent with twins.

After many years my breast shrank to normal size for my age and my belly is shrinking too. I did nothing special for it, It seems to be one of the things that normalises with improvement.

Ofcourse it could be something else for you.

Is your estradiol high? If so, I know that can cause bloating with retention of more fluids.

Interesting question, my last oestradiol came back 133(<150). I feel like I have high estrogen symptoms. And when I took testogel last week I felt bad the next day(more than regular CFS). I feel the only logical explanation why I would feel bad off the equivelant of 5mg of absorbed testosterone is that it converted to estrogen. Maybe I aromatize more than the average man. I have man boobs also.

Ok, then maybe you can talk to your doc about putting you on an aromatase inhibitor like Arimidex.

How's your thyroid? Could you be sub clinically hypothyroid? It is possible to rapidly gain weight and conversely rapidly lose it with hypo and hyper thyroid.

That's a good point. Many people have "in range" numbers when it comes to blood, but you can't really measure what happens at the cellular level. Also, cortisol fluctuations can make you hypo without any thyroid issues.
