Physicians/Clinics providing IV saline on site

My teen son had a couple of infusions of IV saline at one point and it is the only thing that has provided significant relief, albeit very short-lived. Ever since that we have wanted to experiment further with this but the cost was prohibitive as the only choice was via the ER or a home nursing provider. I know that there are some physicians and clinics that do IVs on site and would appreciate some input as to such places that you know about that will do this. I also want to see a CFS specialist with reference to my son's overall status and treatment plan, but if we're going to make such a trip I want it to be a place where they do IVs on site so that we can experiment with that while we are there. His fatigue and orthostatic intolerance are quite debilitating and I am desperate to try to find some "pieces" to improve the quality of his life and allow him to get a formal education.

Your doctor can refer you directly to a hospital IV clinic and bypass the ER. This is what my autonomic specialist did. He left standing orders for patients to get saline IV's.

The main problem I have run into isn't the dr. or the clinics. It's insurance coverage. Mine won't pay.
I get some relief from fluids too. But insurance won't cover it.
Maybe someone has a dx code they have been able to use successfully.

Irony of it. I can get cases of the stuff for my cat w/ CRF, along with needles and inexpensively.
If I had a cath in, I could give myself. Cats are subQ. I can't do my own vein w/just a needle. And believe me I've thought about it.
The nursing fees, admin fees, etc... are what drive it up at clinic or dr. office.

Your doctor can write an RX to get the IV placed and you can get the fluids at home. I don't have insurance. My doc wrote a standing order for me to get an IV cath inserted. Walgreens Home Infusion does this for $40.00.

I have the same problem.
It costs mega bucks to get IV fluids that cost virtually nothing to produce. Hate it.
I have medicare insurance, which will cover if there is something in the fluids besides normal saline.
So, I would suggest getting your doctor to give you something - multivits or B12 or something.
I havent managed to get that, but maybe you can

medicare here too. I hadn't thought about the vits. They never did anything for me IV, but if that will get me fluids.
Not sure my dr. will go for it. But never hurts to ask ?

I LOVE IVs they are the best for me too. Cannot get it easy either. Pedylite is the best next thing and I do everytime I feel coming or have a crash (one whole bottle per day).
