Anybody tried Alkalol for chronic sinusitis?

Just read about this in a book, 'Harvard Medical Guide to Healing Your Sinuses' (which is good).

Alkalol is a liquid mucus-thinning agent that you add to your nasal irrigation saltwater solution - it contains alcohol, baking soda, eucalyptus, menthol and camphor. It gets lots of positive reviews on Amazon:

I'm wondering what it does for the likes of us.

guafenesin, i wonder how helpful it would be for sinuses as it helps liquify mucus etc??

Have to really be careful with things like eucalyptus, menthol, camphor, eugenol if you have MCS. Those kinds of substances can really be nasty and trigger reactions.

I use Alkalol occasionally, but I don't find it a great help. For a short time my sinuses feel a little more open, but it doesn't last long.

Just got my bottle and checked with the manufacturer that the 'caramel colouring' doesn't contain gluten, and they confirm that it doesn't.

NAC and proteolytic enzymes will thin the mucus.

Doesn't sound very promising! It's quite expensive.

Still, it's early days experimenting with this stuff for me - I'll just give it a go.
