Would prostatitis from XMRV effect PSA?

That sounds likely.

As I understand some prostatitis are of unexplained nature but virus is a strong suspect. Since I have all symptoms of cronical P and CFS but a very low PSA it would have been a nice explanation.

Same in my case, very low PSA and unexplained prostatitis (non - bacteriological ), i"m a 100 % sure it's viral, all my symptoms went away after retro viral medication cocktail Norvir, Prezista, Intelence,Isentress. Ones I stoppd the hiv medication all symptoms came back !
All other possible medication I tried in last 20 years (and i can assure you that was a lot !) did nothing at all)
