No it doesn't, but it would be great to get some of the ignorant doctors to go and see him, along with the informed ones!.

That's a pity as he is a very good public speaker. I think any of the doctors who go to see him will be impressed. He comes across as very calm, knowledgeable and dignified. Not a flake.

I heard this guy is an ****. I read this on diverse forums.

Ahhhhh! I am his patient and very satisfied with the way I am treated. He is very professional and attentive in consultations, he does thorough testing and analyzes the tests extremely intelligently.

He has given me a comprehensive treatment plan that is working. And, he is available to patients by email or phone in between face to face consultations.

I think your information may come from a few disgruntled patients. Every doctor has them. Please don't make blanket statements about a doctor using second hand information.

I read many such statements. From his office in Bruxel. Most of the statements I read were in French. There are a lot of them... strangely too many.

I know Dr. de Meirleir personally, and I don't think this is an accurate characterization of him. He has a heart for people, is a very hardworking physician and is also doing very cutting-edge research.

Jeffy, I am also a KDMs patient, and this is not my experience either with him. I think it is better not to judge in such a pejorative terms people in general, if you dont have first-hand information. Even less someone whos working so hard for ME-CFS.

Of course English is not my native language, but I think theres an international rule that says that when you put 2 swearword in just a line, you cannot be taken seriously. And this subject is serious. So please, have a bit of respect, and use your mother language in a better way.

Thanks,
Sergio

English is not my native language. Besides, I'm not judging him. I'm just reporting what I read because I dont want him to hurt other peoples. If you did not have any problem with him, then that's fine. It means you are not concerned by my message. Some people got hurt by this guy. I'm not asking you to believe it. I'm not saying he is not doing much for CFS. But sometimes Doctors do stupid stuff. Like when they are "burnt-out". Maybe he works too much and looses it sometimes? Are you with him 24hours?
Why are you judging him solely based on your tiny little experience? The guy has hundreds of patients... how selfish you are...
So show a little more respect. Thank you

But how do you know those were really his patients? You don't. They could just be KDM haters pinged off by his research.

How do I know the people here are relaly his patients? I dont.
They could be people anyone... People just wanted to be annoying. People lying. People hired to make him good publicity? Himself making some propaganda.
Damn, why do you make such ridiculous comments?

Who the hell has the energy to lie around here? Regardless of what you read you are talking of one of the few of a handful specialists that knows this disease. Emotion will naturally be stirred!

I personally know Sushi and Sergio and can confirm that they are Dr. De Meirleir's patients. I also know another KDM patient well, who has a good opinion of him and told me he was friendly.

I, myself, am not a patient of Dr. De Meirleir, but i think i will try to get an appointment in the next couple of months, because i don't know of many other doctors who have his experience with ME/CFS in Europe. And i need to try to get my case documented as thoroughly as possible, for legal reasons, so i'm looking for a doctor who knows how and where to find abnormalities in a ME/CFS patient.

I can also honestly tell you that my impression is that he likes to make some pretty bold statements (in videos, presentations, etc.) and that i, personally, would not necessarily believe 100% of them, before they are confirmed by solid results.
Nevertheless i don't think there are many better ME/CFS doctors around in Europe.

Hi Jeffy,

He is not just a "guy". He's a Professor in the university, a doctor with several specialties, and many other things, that at least, make him to deserve a more respectful treatment.

I'm just saying that it's not fair, polite nor accurate in this particular case to discredit Prof. de Meirleir the way you did. He's doing ongoing and vital work right now re: ME/CFS that will be publish soon, if and when the terrain is favorable. You are just fouling OUR own nest, and this is not very smart of you.

Don't waste energy in writing back again, please, just make us a favor and delete your first message, or at least say whatever you want to say with a better language.

Damn you can write english but it seems you cant read =)
I said I'm not judging him, I am just reporting what I read....
I also did not say he did nothing for CFS. I said on the contrary he did a lot. But still he can be an *** cant he? or he can have misstreated some patients?
Damn, it looks like you are working for him or something. Being so blunt is fishy.
I'm not talking about his work....
You know Wagner was a great composer but still was an anti semite.
That's just an analogy. I dunno if you can get it though.
That's ok if you dont get it. I dont blame people for being uneducated.
Still, I was just saying what I heard. You may not have had problems with him. Fine. But does it make it impossible for him to have been an asshole a few times? No.
So please stop being selfish and stop talking to me :)
