Do any of you know the Low Histamine Chef, Yasmina? She passed away due to cancer. So sad. She really fought so hard. She was a bright light. She had MCAS, or as she put it, high histamine.

Her recipes were always more than I could eat, but she did a great job at reporting of MCAS and high histamine. Very sad. Another wonderful and bright light taken.

She was my age.

I am really saddened to hear this and just read her family's tribute on her FB page but can't get it to copy here. It said she had a very aggressive form of breast cancer. I remember reading her website when I first realized that I had MCAS and she had a lot of great information and personal stories.

Another bright light gone too soon. RIP Yasmina

Joe Cohen said she contacted him, and said that he showed her that her issues weren't histamine related but rather from CRH. I have no idea if this is true or not.

That's very sad news indeed, i bought a few of her books and she was the one who got me thinking about MCAS and food allergies.
With all those anti-inflammatory foods and supplements she was taking, you'd think she had a lesser chance of contracting that awful disease than the average person.
Condolences to her family and friends.

What is CRH?
https://www.selfhacked.com/blog/why...er-stress-the-role-of-crh/#What_Decreases_CRH

"If you have one or more of the following, you might have a CRH issue (the more you have the more likely): leaky gut, leaky brain barrier, mast cell/histamine issues, skin problems, sleep issues, SIBO, gut inflammation and general inflammation, IBS-Constipation, gut pain, Diarrhea, problems gaining weight, anxiety/fear, depression, emotional instability, cognitive dysfunction, arthritis, Hashimoto’s, uveitis, IBD, disrupted circadian rhythm, oxidative stress, low Testosterone and high estrogen, low libido and problems with fertility?"

CRH is just another label if you ask me. It's the same thing as histamine intolerance and it may be genetic but what can be done about it? All of these different labels. MCAS and now CRH. I have an auto immune illness that causes MCAS. All of what I just read, it all can be pyroluria, MCAS, leaky gut and so many other things.

Nowhere in that article does it say what to do about it, unless I missed something.

I looked at the article but did not understand what "CRH" is and have never heard of this before. The description from post #10 did not match my situation with the exception of the prior MCAS/histamine reactions.

Actually reading it more carefully, I also have Hashimoto's and had fertility issues. But I was 41 yrs old when I started seeing fertility specialists and am certain I would have not had issues had I tried earlier but sadly did not. I still have no idea what CRH is?!

So CRH is a hormone but not the name of an illness? I think I misunderstood that someone was saying that Yasmina did not have MCAS or histamine intolerance and had "CRH" instead. There are endless illness acronyms (for very similar groupings of symptoms) and every time I think that I have heard them all, there is a new one like this!

yes, crh is a hormone and not an illness.
what joe cohen said was that the root for her illness is not a histamine intolerance but chronic high CRH.
And what I quote in post #10 are the symptoms of high CRH according to joe cohen's summary.

This is interesting. So, I have PCOS, which is said to come from the adrenals and ovaries. I had high DHEA years ago and testosterone. I had an ovarian wedge to fix it. But my hormones have always been all over the place so this makes a lot of sense. At one time, my prolactin was super high and I was just 24 and no reason for it.

I do not handle stress well at all. Who knows though. Now, I have endometriosis, fibroids, you name it. A body gone berserk.

When you say, "no reason for it" does that mean you were tested for Prolactinoma (a benign pituitary tumor)?

It was back in 1994. I had PCOS and for some reason it came back high. My doctor never tested me for a tumor and it's not like that anymore. I have had brain MRI's with no tumor. I am not sure if it would come up with an MRI. I often wonder if I have a brain tumor due to hormones, true story.

this is sooo horrible! I was utilizing her website and started some of her program earlier this year. Love and light to her and her family.
