Buzzzy Bees in the Brain

A distressing night. After a day of little to no head symptoms, my head decided to play up as soon as I went to bed. A huge Zzzap! went through my head like a sudden vibration and I shot out of bed because, although brain zaps are now nothing new to me, they come and go in phases, and for weeks I've been more or less zap-free. I think it may always be scary. These zaps kept on coming after I lay down again, just as it seemed my body was settling down into sleep, a sudden vibration would come. It felt like it was building pressure too, even building pressure in my nose. It was 2 hours before I finally fell asleep.

A short entry this time... I don't think I can hang around waiting for appointments much longer.

I know what I'm going to say will sound mighty strange, Poorly Pixi....and I am NOT "diagnosing", also, you can laugh if you like :D
But -have you ever had an out-of-body experience? I mean a literal, leaving the body astral thing?
Because those things can cause some shocking vibrational effects and even the strangest head noises. They do often happen when deeply relaxing and/or nearly asleep.
I have had them in the past, when I was fit and well. Quite dramatic noises/vibrations/buzzing and sound effects!

Of course what you describe, you must be very familiar with, as you have experienced that before, so I may be waaaayyy off with my wacky idea!

I've never had one that I know of - to be honest, if I had, I wonder if I'd still be afraid of death! I don't know much about out of body experiences but I've read a little about them in the past, mostly at times when I wanted to explore consciousness and the soul to comfort my fear of death. I reckon in my case these zaps and vibrations/buzzes and whatnot are just a part of whatever's wrong with my body, along with the reflux, hiatal hernia, muscle pain. Have you had out of body experiences? I'm always interested in hearing these things! Especially now... if I'm honest thoughts about death have crept into my head lately.

Yes but "death" is a whole other thing. Much more amazing as far as I know.
We raggedy beings on Earth have forgotten the Beyond.

No, I am not afraid of death. Just the processes that may lead up to it! Yuck.
But meanwhile here we have these physical bodies that we have to live with, and figure out, and manage as best we can, and sometimes they are wonderful, and sometimes they are horrible.

Anyway, I was just wondering about if that was the cause of those scary vibrations. They can feel scary when they happen in an out of body thing.

But like I said, I am NOT saying it is that at all. You know your own body and your usual symptoms

Miss @PoorlyPixi, you're not anywhere near Surrey are you? I know the UK is big so that may sound like a silly question but @lior just posted to her blog about a visit to Dr Bansal and he is in Surrey.

Just my being hopeful for you.

funny you asked her that as I was thinking that myself. I have had many OBEs in the past and yes things like that often happen just before one. I hate that as it always distracts me from having an OBE if that is what I was trying to do at the time. (I assume as she's trying to get to sleep that she's sparing herself from experiencing the OBE which can follow).

If the symptoms are related to a pre OBE state and you want to try that.. focus on the vibrations in a way in which you try to intensify them though remaining calm and this can lead to then being thrown out of body. (its a common OBE exit technique though I find a quite unpleasant one).

so anyway, you arent the only one thinking of this "wacky idea" when reading her post lol

Another thing which can commonly cause that symptom is some medications give people this symptom as a side effect. So consider your meds.

Surrey is quite a distance from me unfortunately, maybe 2 or 3 hours or more away by car (trains are too overwhelming for me). I will bookmark her blog to read tomorrow, I've left it a bit late tonight! Thank you. That reminds me there is apparently a hospital near me that is quite famous and a few weeks ago we got a phone call and thought maybe it was from that hospital because it had the area code... but... no! Maybe I will get to a specialist one day.

Well this is very interesting! If I'm having OBE's I would really like to know so that I can stop having scary and depressing worries about death! My knowledge of these is very limited. My dad might know more though, I think he believes in OBEs and NDEs so I will ask him. He might give me a funny look though!

The only medication I'm on is an antidepressant that I've been taking for a whopping 9 years.... it never gave me any side effects except ear infections... wonderful drug, it helped me for a long time and caused me no problems, at least that I've ever been aware of...
