Is Ninjitsu the new Gupta?

Is Ninjitsu the new Gupta Programme? This is the question on everyone's lips right now. I have created this blog to address that very question. In particular I have created a table which lists the pro's and con's of each of the the two mind/body methods.

As you can see, each training method has it's own pro's and con's. Certainly Gupta requires a smaller financial outlay upfront, and comes with a 6-month money back guarantee. Ninjitsu comes with no such guarantees. Indeed once you have joined a clan it may be difficult to ever leave.

Also Gupta comes with regular email support from Ashok. Ninjitsu could perhaps learn from this and incorporate a distance-learning element into their training methods. Ninjitsu also takes a lot longer to master. The gupta programme can be mastered with perhaps only 30 minutes training a day for 6 months. Ninjitsu on the other hand requires a lifetime of training to master. Certainly 10 years of full time training would be required to achieve even a basic degree of competency. There are very real risks involved in both disciplines. Ninjas are frequently killed or maimed when on a mission. Life expectancy is low. Gupta training too is not without risks. The training map can be a bit slippy when wearing socks for example.

Gupta DVD's come in both PAL and NTSC format for international convenience. Ninja trainers almost exclusively speak Japansese however, so international compatibility may be an issue.

Overall both methods have their merits and supporters. In the interests of impartiality, I will leave you guessing which mind/body method I have adopted for now.

I don't know.. hard choice! You forgot to add that you get the really cool outfit with Ninjitsu... though I guess you could wear it while doing Gupta if you don't mind the odd looks from people. Nobody dares look oddly towards a real ninja wearing their pj's - you wouldn't dare!

Nice break down!

Nice markings Lisa. Ninjitsu Junior with small cute head and go faster stripe on back.

Sorry Garcia, Lisa put me off, what were you saying about Japan?

Funny....why do I get the feeling, however, that your goal is to belittle a treatment option that some people are using? Before someone accuses me of a lack of humor; consider this analogy.

Is Frog Extract the New Immunovir? (or vice versa)

  • Financial Commitment l zero (catch your own frog ) l $250
  • Money Back Guarantee l None- frog won't tell l ??? Absolutely not - this is the medical profession isn't it?
  • Possible Side Effects I Who Knows? I Several plus huge hole in wallet afterwards

Obviously no one is going to try a martial art to help them with CFS and AR is not a martial art.

This seems a little belittling to me.

Ninjitsu of course my dear its much safer than Gupta but dont wear socks as it cud prove fatal if u land on ur ass!! LOL

Hey Cort,
sorry you took it the wrong way. My blog was as a result of this thread here:
http://www.forums.aboutmecfs.org/showthread.php?1976-Ninjitsu&p=77547#post77547

Someone asked if anyone had trained in ninjitsu in the mind/body forum. So I thought I'd do a humorous comparison against the leading mind/body treatment. I really wasn't making fun of Gupta. I have a copy of the programme myself. And whilst it hasn't helped me, I know it has helped many others out there, and unlike e.g. the lightening process at least it is not exploitative.

I am a serious fan of matial arts. The self discipline & training alone is a big commitment.

But I also like the mind control & simple lifestyle that comes with many of these martial arts. Appeals to my compulsive need for order & routine.

Oh, and I ALSO like the cute training clothes :D (When you've worked in the Fashion Industry like I did in my youth, clothing design is big on the agenda) :D

Thanks Garcia - I appreciate your providing the context. No problem.

I want to do the Ninja program. They're cool and I always thought I'd make a good one. I took Jujitsu, Chi Gung and Tai Chi so I've got some background knowledge too.

Sorry Garcia

I'll pass on the martial arts as my PEM started after collapsing during Ju Jitsu training in 1986. Still can't tolerate working with my hands above shoulder level.

I still have the cute outfit although being 24 years older and 20lbs heavier I doubt it still fits.

Now Tai Chi?

Slightly off topic, but it just occured to me that I also still have my old squash racket in the cupboard. I wonder if I kept these things as a reminder? Plus until the last few years I always firmly believed that I would get better.

Unfortunately, even if I ever was capable of playing squash again, I fear I'd be laughed off the court with my archaic oval, wooden racket. (and Ju Jitsu outfit):ashamed:

Hey Lisa - cool avatar! Squirrels are the ninja's of the animal kingdom! They go about in total silence and strike like a cobra. They also do a lot of damage to plants which is why my mom doesn't like them. :(

Adam, location in Japan strict secret! Shhhhh. :worried:

Frou I'll try not to land on my ass, but with this disease it is always more likely than not! :Retro tongue:

Victoria lol. You are right about the cute clothes though - always wanted a pair of ninja boots!

Teej, I have a feeling you would make an awesome ninja!

Marco, really sorry your PEM started during Ju Jitsu. Ju Jitsu is the thinking-man's martial arts no? I love watching the Ju Jitsu specialists on MMA. Maybe one day you'll be able to take it up again. I have all my old tennis stuff, including about 10 racquets. I think it helps to have the stuff around that you hope to do one day. Playing tennis was actually my chosen visualization for my gupta training. It sure gave me incentive to want to get better.

the ultimate test of the psych lobby's convictions - ninja pwME's lol

if they believe it's all in the mind they will run like hell - if however they do actually believe it's a physical illness they would just stand there (possibly calling security) and wait for the ninja pwME to fall over

hilarious - or is my brain just fried right now?
